Done 24 years in the puss myself (and still Reserving) and if I was a politician I would not have to worry about anything because my pension would be $60k plus after 24 years. You can guarantee, without a doubt they won't pay a cent on their pension at 60.
I believe the term "unfunded" is used because the government has not actually contributed employer contributions as is legally required of all other Australian employers. Why does the Government not fund the military superannuation from the $15B in the futures fumd, tax it accordingly and treat the military superannuants fairly.
The niggardly treatment of our Veterans by all Political parties and their attempts to use every trick in the book to avoid making Compensation payments should be condemned by all fair-minded peorle
not enough that this government risk the lives of our sons and daughter, now they want to fleece them of their rightfull entitlements, so the pollies can fill their own pockets with the money
Defence personnell servve and die for this Country when politicians direct them to do so. The Politicians remain home in their ivory castle and refuse to look after the service personnell by changing the Superannuation rules. Take a good look at yourself Costello and mob.
It would seem to be a simple process for politicians to grant themselves hefty pay rises with commensurate increases in superannuation and yet when it comes to veterans it is all too hard
We support this petition - we did our time serving the country so we shouldn't be any different than pollies (public servants)...if not more so as we trully served this country and its people!
