"I am not influenced by the techniques or fashions of any other motion picture company" -- Walt Disney

First off, this is not a campaign to change the current Disney Channel. Rather, it's a campaign to get a new Disney Channel, a new station, on television. Why, you might ask?

The Disney Channel is ignoring the very principles Disney was founded under and is spitting on the Disney name as a whole. If certain areas in this
company ignore their principles, they stop the Disney name from flourishing.

Disney is not just a company, but also a man. Walt Disney was a pioneer whose philosophy for the Disney Company was always to entice people to enjoy
all of his masterpieces by providing nothing but "high quality family entertainment." The company he built currently preaches about family, yet
at the same time ignores the very aspects and principles of family entertainment upon which they were built.

After all, "this" is where Disney came from; "this" is where Disney was more of a magical legacy than a generic brand name, such as Nickelodeon or MTV. When the Disney Channel began to ignore these ideals, they helped to stop the Disney name from
flourishing into what it was destined to be and what Walt always meant it to be.

"That's the real trouble with the world, too many people grow up. They forget. They don't remember what it's like to be twelve years old. They
patronize; they treat children as inferiors. I won't do that. I'll temper a story, yes. But I won't play down, and I won't patronize" -- Walt Disney

Through the "old" Disney Channel, people of all ages were introduced to wonderful old movies. It was on Disney that many first saw a lot of the
Disney classics as well as Hollywood classics like the musicals of Rogers and Hammerstein. It used to be programming that parents and children could
watch together. At least the Disney Channel had Vault Disney; that us until 2002, when all "classic" Disney was phased off the air. Why wouldn't today's generation like Old Yeller, Davy Crockett, Five Mile Creek, Mickey Mouse Club, Zorro, Spin & Marty, Walt Disney World Inside Out, Dumbo's Circus, Pooh Corner, White Fang, Iron Will, Flight of the Navigator, Tron, Disney's nature specials, etc? This is where Disney came from; films and programs like these are true family classics; and they deserve to be showcased on television!

"You’re dead if you aim only for kids" -- Walt Disney

Now the only group the channel plays to is the 12 and under crowd. Disney is about family and once this channel was for family. Now it's a commercial
filled, mostly un-watchable channel. One might as well watch Nickelodeon or MTV.

There could have been installed just a few shows that would be popular with the young crowd, but instead the entire channel has been converted to a
preteen/preschool dreamland.

"I do not make films primarily for children" -- Walt Disney

Many children today who end up watching the older classics on DVD actually do like them. They like them very much, in fact. The problem, though, is
that their parents are the ones who actually want the discs, and as a result these kids wouldn‘t even see these movies if it weren't for them (the
parents). By deciding not to air the old films and television specials, the current company is not giving them more of a chance with a younger
generation; a generation that deserves to know the history, the legacy, and the beauty of Walt Disney and his vision.

"The important thing is the family. If you can keep the family together -- and that’s the backbone of our whole business, catering to families --
that's what we hope to do" -- Walt Disney

Help start up a Vault Disney or Disney Family Channel and put family programming there. What is the harm of mixing in classic Disney films and TV
shows, for current and future generations to enjoy, with great non-Disney family fare? The very building blocks of this great company: its morals, its principals, its values are shown in these timeless treasures. The next generation deserves to know who Walt Disney was. He is certainly one of the most beloved men of all time. Everyone deserves to know what he stood for. And we deserve to tell them.

Please sign this petition, which is the third in our campaign. There have been well over 400 gathered on the first two.

514 19 Apr 2006 - 5:26    lauren : I support this petition. i would absolutely love to get some old movies and shows back on disney! cmon.. disney doesnt even show movies like beauty and the beast, cinderella, or mary poppins anymore! those are some of the best and younger kids should be introduced to them.
513 18 Apr 2006 - 22:48    Bill Knight : Not a bad idea. Also, just look at some of the comments by people like the one at number 508. Illiterate, barely coherent teens who can't even formulate a single sentence aren't being helped by the garbage TV that is on these days. I wonder how they'll react when their kids (if they even still talk to them) think that Lizzie and the other nonsense shows are "old" and "boring."
512 18 Apr 2006 - 4:11    Jesse Stuhltrager : I support this petition fully. Why? I may not have been around when the shows were in their prime, but I saw them when they were on Toon Disney. The animation quality may not be as good as 'new' shows, but to heck with that! The overall quality smokes many of today's cartoons, and the ones that it doesn't are going the same way as them. Why? What happened to when good shows stayed on air, and could be enjoyed by all? I'd even like to see a continuation of them, but I don't. It wouldn't be the same. Believe it or not, I always loved Darkwing Duck, Ducktales, Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers..... Even some of the best, more recent, shows have been canceled. Dave the Barbarian was awesome. The comedy was choice, and able to compare to the older shows. So was Weekenders. What happened? Kids are smarter than you know. I realize terrible shows when I see them. The shows nowadays-other than a choice few, like Kim Possible and The Suite Life of Zach and Cody- wouldn't make anything if it weren't for all the smoke and mirrors people put up around them. I want to see quality animation return.
511 15 Apr 2006 - 11:20    Tyler McCrary : I support this petition. I want to see the original and classic shows on Disney.
510 14 Apr 2006 - 22:50    Hope : u ****
509 13 Apr 2006 - 2:00    THIS PETITION SUXS OUTT LOUD : Umm we are not all 25,35,45,55 or 65 year's old. This is a NEW GENERATION so get it straight. I LOVE watching THAT'S SO RAVEN, PHIL, ZACK AND CODY, LIZZIE, ETC. Matybe if they put your boring ass garbage on latenight then I dont really care. But all you Disney haters can SCREW OFF becuz I love the NEW DISNEY.
508 12 Apr 2006 - 3:11    pixelbunnie : Sadly, I was raised by television, and The Disney Channel (the OLD Disney Channel from the early 90s) was my favored choice. Shows I can't even remember the title to are engraved in my mind and I'd absolutely love to gain regular access to them again.
507 11 Apr 2006 - 19:56    Terry Mann : I support this petition. I take my family to Disney World every year, and to Disneyland every few years. We are passionate, devoted Disney fans, and we miss our old favorite shows!
506 9 Apr 2006 - 7:21    Cricket : I support this petition. I AM a pre-teen. I remember cartoons from whence I was little. And I love them more then any digitaly animated other junk. Walt Disney has inspired me! I have a book ob him, 450 some pages long that I am reading! I know that the Enchanted Tiki Room was the first ever animatronics ride MADE in Disneyland! I MISS the old Disneychannel, and I'M 12!!! I want to be an Imagineer when I am out of college, and I want to learn these things, and watch these movies! But they are nowhere to be found broadcasted, and my parents can't afford to buy or rent these things! So yes, I, whole-hearted and determined, SUPPORT THIS PETIOTION!!!
505 8 Apr 2006 - 7:21    angela : I support this petition.
504 7 Apr 2006 - 20:15    Jen : I support this petition. It would be great to watch the old Disney cartoons with Mickey and Donald.I loved it when Donald would get mad at his nephews or at Chip & Dale.

499 1 Apr 2006 - 2:05    Kristi : I support this petition. It would be wonderful to get a Disney station that would play favorite old Disney classic movies and series like Zorro.
498 30 Mar 2006 - 10:23    Chris : Dumbo's Circus all the way :)
497 27 Mar 2006 - 5:44    Nick : I would watch Disney Channel once in a while instead of sniping at it if they would put something good in.

495 26 Mar 2006 - 0:34    Travis : I miss the Disney Channel from the 80's & 90's. Shows like You & Me Kid, MMC and Kids Incorporated. Please bring them back.
494 22 Mar 2006 - 9:02    Diane Williams : I support this petition. I was just telling my children a few days ago how great the old Disney channel was back in the 80's. They even sent out a monthly guide. I can't stand the new Disney channel stuff. I try to buy the older Disney movies and cartoons on DVD. My children all LOVE the older stuff too.
493 20 Mar 2006 - 10:37    Michelle Paulsen : When I was around 12 years old I was excited when I got to stay up late to watch Vault Disney. To me it was a magical world of my mother's childhood days.I wanted to experience it too.I was very disappointed when they replaced it with reruns of the same junk that was on in the daytime. Now I'm 19 and I'm still disappointed. Michelle,Paulden,AZ
492 19 Mar 2006 - 2:52    Peter Smith : I would like the people of the The Disney Channel to establish a Vault Disney Channel because I really love "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color". If they won't establish it, I'll cut off their heads.
491 17 Mar 2006 - 10:55    DJ Ragas : Vault Disney was the only reason I still watched the Disney Channel!!! Bring it to its OWN channel please!
490 13 Mar 2006 - 21:46    Anne Rindfliesch : I support this petition. My husband and I watched Vault Disney on a regular basis; we would come in from gardening to watch Disney Inside Out; Disney specials around the holidays were always some of our favorite things to watch on the Disney Channel. Now, other than Lilo and Stitch, the House of Mouse, and Raven, there is really nothing worth watching. Please consider a channel for those of us who were raised watching Uncle Walt every Sunday evening and dreaming of going to Disneyland, walking with the Penguins in the Falklands, or flying with Peter Pan!
489 12 Mar 2006 - 10:22    krystal : I support this petition.
488 12 Mar 2006 - 8:10    Rob : I ABSOLUTELY support this petition. I loved watching the old Disney shows and catoons when Disney Channel first started, now it's a total sellout........
487 4 Mar 2006 - 6:45    Sean : Walt Disney never wanted his works hidden inside a vault for no one to see. He meant to give the world magic of the child's heart. Please make these shows available again, FOR EVERYONE'S SAKE. I DEFINITELY support this petition.
486 4 Mar 2006 - 6:29    Kelsey : Walt Disney would be rolling in his grave if he saw today's line-up. What happened to good values of Disney? I support this petition.
485 4 Mar 2006 - 6:27    Katie : I support this petition. I'm sixteen and I still LOVE old Disney movies, like "The Ugly Dachshund".
484 4 Mar 2006 - 6:23    Harold : I support this petition.
483 4 Mar 2006 - 6:20    Maggie : I support this petition. If you read this carefully it says that you will get the same shows on the Disney channel, but there should be a new channel added to the company. So take the time to READ this and maybe you will learn the true intentions of this author. It certainly inspired me and I've always loved watching Vault Disney every night to morning when it was on.
482 4 Mar 2006 - 6:14    sue bortell : I support this petition.
481 3 Mar 2006 - 23:00    Daniel : I support this petition.
480 2 Mar 2006 - 0:37    Ashley : I support this petition. What happened to all the great shows from the later 1980s-1990s? That was high quality entertainment replaced by horrible tv shows whose target audience is no longer the family unit but I guess maybe young girls? It's sad, I used to LOVE the disney channel. WHAT HAPPENED? :(
479 27 Feb 2006 - 7:20    this petition sux : I dont support this petition. I like the new disney channel but if they make a new disney channel it would be okay or if they put the old disney channel stuff in the mornings that would be good too but if they are going to delete the good stuff like the suite life of zack and cody, phil of the future, and thats so raven then forget it!!!
478 27 Feb 2006 - 7:15    Jaonathan Cuesta : I support this petition very much. As a fourteen year old boy, I really miss the old Disney Channel and so do most of my friends and family. I remember when vault disney would be on, and I also remeber the Disneyland shows. I really want to see all of it again.
477 26 Feb 2006 - 0:16    Christine Johnson : I support this petition. Age: 29, CA
476 25 Feb 2006 - 7:50    Emily : I grew up watching almost the very beginning of the Disney Channel (in the late 1980s - now I'm 21) and I remember loving to watch "Cannon Movie Tales", "Under the Umbrella Tree", "Kids Incorporated", "Kid Songs", "Dumbo's Circus", "Paddington Bear", "Welcome to Pooh Corner", and including Vault Disney (although that came a little later). And I must say I wish those shows were brought back. I miss being able to watch those shows and the now-almost completely forgotten cartoons of Mickey, Donald Duck, Goofy, Minnie Mouse (my favourite), and Pluto. Including the famous films (live-action) like "Swiss Family Robinson", "The Three Lives of Thomasina", "The Love Bug", "Gus", "The Apple Dumpling Gang", "Condorman", among others. But since the latter 1990s, all these shows are practically non-existant and are no longer shown anymore. I don't know if anyone remembers them. So I will sign this petition.
475 23 Feb 2006 - 15:23    costantino ivoi : I am looking for the full DVD collection of Zorro (version produced by Walt Disney). Thank you for kind attention. Costantino Ivoi
474 23 Feb 2006 - 4:28    brandon : plz bring them back...i used to love these shows and some of them are and are not on dvd and vhs! =(
473 20 Feb 2006 - 4:17    Mish : I support this petition.I think it is a good idea
