To whom it may concern,

The website docs.torrents.ro has been, for a very long time now (at least in internet time), the main source of educational and documentary material for many people from Romania and the rest of the world. The site has now been shut down due to hosting problems. This usually wouldn't mean the total demise of a website, but docs' policy was that it would base its operation on the good will of a webhost, rather than accept donations, as is the most common practice with this kind of website. The reasoning here was that donations would give the impression of a site bent on making profit and not providing free educational material to its users. This is a commendable thought but not one for which it is worth dissolving a community that, unlike many others, formed under the common code that learning new things is desirable.

I speak only on behalf of myself, a user of the site, and hope this isn't in total opposition with the wishes of the site's staff. The information I've provided concerning the reasons for the site's closing were taken from a post made by a docs admin at torrents.ro

By signing this petition, you concur with the fact that docs.torrents.ro should accept a donation mechanism or any other viable solution other than relying on the willingness of a host to provide free service.

Site-ul docs.torrents.ro si-a incetat activitatea datorita unei probleme legate de hosting. Conducerea site-ului a oferit, ca unica posibilitate de revenire a acestuia, ivirea unui alt webhost care sa ofere servicii gratuite.
