It’s obvious that quake 2 and 3 graphics are much better then quake’s 1, but the truth is, that quake 1 is the one that I most like playing (5 years by now). And the reason is not that my computer doesn’t support the newer versions but quake 1 in my opinion has the better game playing. Taking those characteristics, and mixing the positive aspects, certainly the result would be very pleasant. Good graphics aligned with game play. I’m certain you can do that. Quake fans will be thanked. []’s
