I think it is a travesty and a tremendous injustice to the students and our school system to have Mr. Auttouoman deported in the middle of the school year just because he missed a hearing. Believe me I am not saying that we should disregard our laws, but I am saying there should be exceptions to the law for people who are not a threat to our government or our community. People make makes mistakes everyday that cause them to miss appointments. I'm certainly guilty of having missed a few myself. In fact, I don't personally know anyone who has never misssed an appointment. So why not give Mr. Auttouoman another chance. From all accounts he has proven himself to be an upstanding citizen of the United States, as well as, an exceptional teachher. With quality teachers at a premium I think we are doing ourselves an injustice to lose such a dedicated person as Mr. Auttouoman. Therefore, I plead with you to give Mr. Auttouoman another chance to become go through the process and become a citizen of our country. I think he has proven himself by his contributions to our children and the school system. Isn't that what we want out of our teachers? Please give Mr. Auttouoman a chance to continue the good things he has been doing here in the United States. Thanks for taking the time to hear my remarks.
The democracy in America is the voice of the people and the people say that Mr. Auttouoman is contributing to the success of this country. ALLOW HIM TO STAY.
I have heard much about Obain from his colleagues and students. America, right now more than ever, needs devoted teachers who help in the development of strong, well-education youth! Please, let this man continue to live his life of the true American dream here in the United States.
Please stop the deportation of Obain Auttouoman, a man who has spent years helping american children. It is within your power to stop this from happening.
We would not deport Cuban refugees seeking assylum in the U.S. Why have this man who has contributed to our society in such a powerful way by ensuring quality education to our children to a country seeking to anhialate him? It's injustice and against our commitment to sharing our democratic values globally. This man is trully committed to not keeping our children behind.
This country needs good teachers and this is a case where his contributions should be considered. It was a good faith effort and another hearing should be given.
Democracy, opportunity, the respect for human rights and education are all such fundamental American values. Therefore, this deportation seems to be unAmerican on so many levels - Do we no longer believe in political asylum after 9/11? Please at least give this man the chance to have his case heard!
Our children need all the inspiration they can get. A good teacher is a diamond. This man is beloved by his students. He has done an excellent job. We also have a dearth of math teachers. Besides all of this, this is a human rights issue. He should be decorated, not deported.
good teachers are hard to come by. this teacher hard working and truely looks out for his students best interests. he has followed all the laws and paid his taxes. so he should be allowed to stay. please give him a second chance
i dont think that the teacher should be kicked outta the country because he wasnt like ever and hes been a citizen for like 13 years and he hasnt done anything wrong and kicking him out is kicking out a good math teacher and risking the education of students because i dont think another can take the place of him because they cant teach the way he can.
Mr. Obain Attouoman must stay in the U.S. Under these circumstances, it is unacceptable that this teacher is even being considered for deportation. I don't know if Bush got the memo, but his bs No Child Behind Policy won't work without good teachers, which the admin works to gets rid of. Saying "laws are laws, we have to remove this man" (seemingly their only case) is ridiculous, because if laws were laws in this country, Bush wouldn't be president.
This Bush Admin. yet again tries to forcefully remove America's beautiful.
i dont think that this teacher is being treated fairly and because just because hes not from here doesnt mean that he has to be kicked out of the country and i dont see a reason for him to have to leave because he didnt have to like 13 years ago so why now?
I am currently Master's candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I have been working in the Boston Public Schools as part of my program and would encourage you to consider what honouring the voices of your young americans in this case could add not only to the quality of teaching at their school - but to their respect for their current government and president.
Our nation was built by immigrants.
The creative energy for which our nation is famous depends on cultural mix.
The future of this nationdepends on maintaining this flow.
just people a person make a wrong in the past it don't mean he can't stay here anymore because everyone make a wrong. Tell me how didn't make a wrong before. Everyone do so please let this teacher stay and teach the students.
Obain is a wonderful, intelligent and inspriational educator. This mix-up is unfortunate indeed, however to deport Obain because of it would be tragic to our community -- particularly our children.
only the fact that children may be reading these comments keeps me from using adult language to express what i feel. once again, the u.s. government is showing the world how it makes enemies.
We need good math teachers...Do not throw away a gem for some petty technicality..especially since it may be a life wasted. Lets keep our good teachers!!!!
i worked with Obain in a principal trainging program. He is one of the mo st articulate, caring people i have met. He has deep integrity. this is a terrible mistake.
I think u should'nt let this excellent teacher be gone cause he have a family to care of just let us working and keeping our family save so please don't let him lose this jobs. Children out there need that kind of teacher like him so please don't let him go away.
Do you remember your High School teacher that influenced your life in other areas as well. Think how you would have felt if she/he had been deported what a loss to this country, keep Obain Auttouoman in the land of the FREE.
He's be a public school teacher in Boston for over 10 years. Isn't that reason enough to let the man stay? It's absolutely ridiculous that our country is so anti-immigrant when in fact...we're all here BECAUSE of immigration!
