I don't know anything about this man or what's he done, but if there are students willing enough to do all this, I trust that he is an amazing person, and that he is important to a lot of people.
The system has failed Mr. Auttouoman. Please, allow him to have an asylum hearing before you decide whether to deport him. To deport a persecution victim on a technicality is to willingly send a lamb into the care of wolves.
We are always up in arms about the quality of teachers educating our youths and here you have a man who exemplifies love and commitment to his field and his students. A good educator is very hard to fine today.
Clearly Obain is an asset to his students and have positively impacted their lives. As a non-citizen of the US, he has been committed to teaching our children and should therefore be granted asylum.
It makes no sense to deport someone who is contributing so positively to Americas future. The Good should not have to suffer with the bad.How many students do you know that would petition for a teacher to saty in the country. Most kids hate their teachers or jsut don't care enough to do anything. The fact that this petition even exists is a testiment to this mans character.
Dear Mr. President and Mr. Chertoff,
Please know that to deport Obain Auttouoman would have a dramatic and negative effect on more than 1000 students who have been inspired and enriched by this wonderful man's teaching and example. Please intervene to have his deportation reversed.
Thank you!
This is an opportunity to let the students of Boston know that being politically active and taking a stand for what is right pays off. Deporting this inspiring teacher and mentor would be a disgrace.
We are a country of equal opportunity and acceptance. To have a life uprooted and a community violated in such a way is unAmerican. This is a country of opportunity. As such it should be one with flexibility, understanding, and compassion.
Not only do our students need good teachers, but our nation needs good people. Mr. Auttouoman has distinguished himself as an exemplary teacher and citizen. Please let him stay!
Thanks,
David Carlson
