You all have my support and prayers. I am emailing and calling today. I got this info. through the CASN news brief. Please keep us all posted.
Godspeed!
Good teachers are essential to No Child Left Behind. Please don't deport this teacher on a technicality. He has waited 6 years for an asylum hearing. Because he is so absorbed in being a good teacher, he misread the date of his appointment. That is not a crime worthy of deportation!
Boston is in need of good and solid and quality teachers, This man is loved by his students. Go find the real criminals, and leave one of the few good teachers in BPS in his classroom.
I fully support the goal of keeping our country safe via the enforcement of our immigration laws. There are times, however, when the spirit of the law is more important that the letter - this is one of those times. Blindly following procedure at the expense of a good man and the children whose lives he touches is foolish. Rather than deporting Mr. Auttouoman, we should be scouring the world looking for more like him - men who are willing to dedicate their lives to the betterment of the children of our country.
Justice must be tempered with reason and compassion. This deportation is harsh and unreasonable. What lesson would such a move teach the students of this high school?
I am astounded that asylum hearings take so long...and that after making good people wait so long, the process is so cavalier about dismissing them. Please look at this case again...TODAY!
This teacher has made a great contribution in the educational system and he should be retained in the U.S. There are other people that are of less contribution to our society should be the one's scrutinize instead. He has a right to a trial/hearing - PLEASE DO NOT DENY HIM THIS AMERICAN BILL OF RIGHTS!!!!
Any teacher that can instill that much passion in his students makes me want to go back to school and take math, which I dispised when I was in school. LET HIM STAY, WE NEED HIM!!!
I urge you not to deport Obain Auttouoman. Because good teachers are hard to find. And because he is not a criminal or a terrorist. He shouldn't be punished on the basis that he is an immigrant and a refugee.
Obain is a good man with a valid fear of losing his life if he is deported back to the Ivory Coast. You are not protecting anyone in the United States by deporting him. Let him stay and let Boston keep this good teacher.
Our nation needs more good teachers that really care about their students like Obain Auttouoman. Don't let our bureaucracy punish this amazing teacher.
We need all the good teachers we can get in the US! To see a teacher who's inspired his students so much is an amazing thing, and a mark of how much we'd lose if we force Obain Auttouoman away.
Please do not deport Obain. He is a great teacher and a genuine man. He deserves a chance to live a normal life free from oppression and tyranny. Thank you.
Mr., President Bush
My daughter is part of this school, and I’m proud of her. She can't stop talking about this teacher, how good he is. My question is: Is this teacher a threat to this country? If your answer is yes then send him home but if its no, them give him one more chance and listen to the voice of future presidents and government officials of this country.
Please! Let him stay!
Laws are made to protect, not to enforce for the sake of enforcement. This man is a beloved teacher. Let him stay and teach. What lesson are we teaching the children, if we ship him out?
It's amazing that a person can be a law abiding citizen of the U.S. and actually work and strive toward improving the community and still get persecuted in this manner.
Please let Mr.Auttouoman stay.
