Why do this? Aren't you busy enough - we sure don't have enough good teachers - taking one away is not your patriotic duty, instead it is your duty to keep them here.
This is a complete injustice and is a clear indication of the values or absence of...that this supposed democracy places on leaders and educators of our children and of the world. Please reaffirm to all of us, especially our children, that this country has the heart and humanity to act with dignity and justice. Keep Mr. Auttouoman here.
To Whom It May Concern,
I write on behalf of Mr Obain Attouman and ask your consideration in granting him asylum. I have known Mr Attouman over ten years and can attest to his strong moral and explementary character.
His role as a black professional provides hope to his inner city students. The decision to deport him would be a terrible injustice
Since arrival to the United States he has helped many and over came multiple challenges to his educational goal to be attain a teachers certification. Since accepting a teaching appointment he has utilized his skill as a leader and positive role model continues to inspire and encourage his students to learn. I close hopeful that you consider this request and take action to stop the deportation of Mr Obain Attouman. Thank -you for your atention and consideration.
Sincerely,
Nancy L. Baptist
President Bush,
I believe you are honest in your Christian beliefs. I applaud anyone who tries to live by religious convictions. That is why I ask you to consider this teacher's plea through eyes of faith. Jesus asks us to live not by the word but by the spirit of the word. Is there any better example than this man? Again, please consider his plight.
The BPS system is lacking certified math teachers so why deport one who has been teaching over a year and makes a difference in the life of hundreds of students? Mr.Obain has made a difference in my life in the terms of my education and life in general by representing a strong male minority figure who is always presentable organized, neat, efficient, dedicated, committed, intelligent in the way that he walks, talks and plays his part in society. Let him stay. He is not a terrorist but indeed, an asset to the Fenway and world community. The fight is not over!!!
Pres Bush & Mr. Chertof....you have so many ppl who come to this country and get involved in all sorts of crimes from drug dealing to murder...and here you have a man who's out here serving as a roll model for the youth who are the future leaders of this country and u want to depor thim based on TECHNICALITIES??... where the justice????
In 1995, I taught at the Fenway Middle College High School and I know it to be an excellent program for the young people of Boston. I can not believe that our government would strip these students of their teacher. Who are the role models here?
Thank you for making me aware of this. I will sign your petition. By the way, I am using this story as a source for a flyer I am doing for a History muckracking article.
President Bush--Please take a look at the fact in this case and allow Mr. Obain Auttouoman to stay in thios country for the good of the children he teaches, for the good of the justice, and for the personal welfare of Mr. Auttouoman.
Thank you,
Richard Stutman
President
Boston Teachers Union.
This is a bureaucratic decision that has more to do with paper shuffling that national security. If all Mr. Auttouoman failed to do was show up at the wrong time, then the decision to deport him is ignorant, unjust, and undemocratic. However, in fairness to the DHS, if there is more to his case, than is described, that information become public.
Mr. Auttouoman is a great example to students, teachers and immigrants to this country. He believes in justice and in the right to fight for liberty and the pursuit of happiness in this country. Please help this wonderful teacher continue to serve our children.
It is so sad that the country is enacting laws that affect good, positive, contributing members of this society. I am now a US citizen, but was originally from Africa. Many of my friends and I, who like profesor Obain, have been nothing but contributing members to this society need to be given a chance. We are all humans and make mistkes and shouldn't be punished. He is NOT a criminal! If the only mistake he made was showing up to court on a different date, "give me a break"!!
As an extremely busy, dedicated teacher, I know how easy it is to miss an important date in my personal life because of the rigor of concerns and deadlines for my students. Please act from your hearts in allowing this great and beloved teacher, Mr. Auttouoman, stay.
There should be some flexibility when it comes to making these decisions. This man is an important contributor to the welfare and betterment of our society and should be protected and congratulated for all the good work he has done while here instead of being cast out for no good reason. Obain is a fine teacher, a fine person and a much loved and highly regarded member of his community. Forcing him to leave will do harm to the students who depend on him. His deportation would be a shameful act of cruelty to him, his family and his community.
