N.C.L.B. is underfunded, Teachers have overcrowded classrooms, administrators are more worried that children pass the M.C.A.S. rather than get a well rounded education... And now ANOTHER Witch Hunt to deport a fantastic teacher that his student love because of another ridiculous bureaucratic rule. If you can hide things from the people to further your cereer, you can let him stay and enrich the lives of our nation.
This is a person who is contributing to our country. He has already become an important influence on students who are our future leaders. To deport him would be a grave injustice. I am sure there are plenty of people here with less right to be here than him. Furthermore, his case has merit based on human rights; let us not forget the mission of our country to welcome those who are persecuted elsewhere.
The message the threatened deportation sends to the students and the immigrant community of Boston is all wrong. Paperwork should NOT be more important than people. That's not what I want my 5-year old (a kindergartener in Boston Public Schools) to learn.
When students stand up for a teacher like this, the goernment should listen. This is a obviously a teacher who is leaving no child behind!Isn't that what our leaders want. Please leave Mr. Auttouoman stay in the US as a teacher. SIncerely, Maureen Nixon-Holtan, Biology teacher and Co-Director of the Health Academy at Oakland Technical High School
As an educator I feel the ned to maintain the integrity of the classroom for the sake of the students. The disruption to the students, not to mention Obain, is unconscionable.
Let us not sacrifice common sense in the persuit of national security. Mr. Auttouman, and his students deserve more than a rigid bureaucratic response to a human error.
Please allow him to continue his important work as a teacher. Let him stay!
Boston Schools spends a thousands of dollars trying to recruit teachers from other countries. We have a respected teacher here and the Immigration Department is trying to deport him?!?
Just Don't!
Students, schools, communities, cities, states, this country, the world need more men like Mr. Obain. Think! Keep him here, for all our sakes.
Obain Auttouoman symbolizes everything this country stands for: hard work, perseverance, excellence, dedication, FREEDOM. This man must be allowed to stay in the U.S. permanently! To deport him would be to subvert all the values this country holds dear.
We need more dedicated teachers like Mr. Auttouoman! Fenway High is very lucky to have such a great teacher. Don't leave the children behind by sending him back!
This man is a blessing for many students, not to mention BPS as a whole. He should be held in high regard just for fighting to stay in a country where teaching is a much more thankless job than any other place in the world. Good luck and God Bless!
This man must have a positive and powerful effect on the students he has encountered! His students have protested in the in the cold and brought national attention to his plight. Why would think twice about allowing him to stay and teach our children?!
