Be a compassionate conservative! Give our country - especially inner city schools - what it needs, dedicated, passionate teachers. Don't force Auttounoman back to the Ivory Coast! Let's celebrate the gifts he has to give our youth and our country!
I have had the professional pleasure to have worked with Obain Auttouoman at the Mary Lyon school for three years. He is an exceptionally teacher and a man of great character. He is an asset to this country and our youth. Those who know him, know what a great loss it would be to have Obain leave the country. Thank you
As a former Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa and a student at the Harvard Graduate School of Eduaction, I recognize the importance of having a teacher of Mr. Auttouman's background in the American classroom. Don't disappoint these kids and let them see first hand injustices in the American system.
Mr. Auttouoman and his students should not be unfairly victimized. I teach at Framingham State College and am informing the Human Rights Action Committee there of this case.
It would be an injustice to deport Mr. Auttouoman considering his dedication to his students and based on the fact he made an error reading his notification. There are much more dangerous people in the US we should be deporting.
As a fellow teacher, we need Mr. Auttouoman in our profession in this country working with our students. PLEASE allow him to stay permanently in this country.
It would be an egregious act of a pointless bureaucracy to deport Auttouoman. He is an important teacher to so many students. I can imagine these students growing up with a poor sense of the purpose of US immigration laws if they lost their teacher.
Dear President Bush, As the mother of children who attend the Boston Public School System, it is an honor to come across a teacher such as Mr. Auttowouman that has so much dedication his life for our students and all of the students who attend Boston's Public School system. He is
an asset to our school system and our country. Please give him your support so, he can continue to support our children under The No Child Left Behind Act. Sincerely, Claudia L. Owumi
Please reaffirm the belief in justice and democracy that these children have. Please don't let some bureaucratic pedanticism deprive them of a dynamic, dedicated, and valued teacher.
Please don't allow this wonderful role model, teacher and friend of th Fenway High School community to be deported.
He's an asset to this school and this nation. We need him to stay at Fenway.
Please do not deport this valuable contributor to our community. What are you saving, and how many lives will you ruin? Please look to the greater good. Thank you.
When have you ever seen students so dedicated and active about a teacher? Let's reward people who work hard for our communities. Please allow Mr. Auttouoman to reside in Boston and continue teaching.
Really GOOD teachers are so hard to fine.
Amazing teachers are virtually impossible to find.
Why are you taking away an educator that WILL have a positive influence on hundreds of teenagers???
The immigration system is broken when a dedicated teacher like Obain cannot get a hearing before an immigration judge to plead his case. It's time to fix it and to allow Obain to stay.
Please listen to the voices of so many students, teachers and their supporters. The best thing Homeland Security shouldn't waste their time and money making this country less safe by attacking this school. Please recognize the importance of this situation and the needs of Mr. Attouoman and his students. If we are a nation of values, let's put respect for life and work, education and intelligent government on our values list. Thank you.
Please listen to reason (and the wishes of the people you represent!) and let this teacher stay. The immigration laws in this case are not serving as intended and are wrong.
Today as never before our country stands aware of her enemies. She should also stand aware of those who are so willing and capable of giving of themselves to enable our country to grow and survive through it's most valuable resource, her children. No Child Left behind in order to be a reality must have talented Teachers, deporting this man seems feels wrong. Mr. President, you are a man of Faith, please give this man Hope.
I support the Students of Fenway High School who are trying to keep their teacher, Mr. Obain Attouoman, in the classroom. We need good math teachers, and especially ethnically diverse ones, willing to make a difference in inner city Boston. Let the teacher stay!
