I am so disappointed in my government. When superfluous security concerns outweigh the benefits of high quality education, something has gone terribly wrong.
As a former state and city official, I learned to tell the difference between meaningful accountability and knee-jerk bureaucratic nonsense. This is obviously an unjust bureaucratic action. Please use your power wisely to prevent this injustice. Imagine what a hero you could be?
This could have happened to Attorney General Gonsalez and his family. This is cruel and vicious to Mr. Auttouoman and his community. Is this the future of our country?
It's not necessarily about the letter of the law, but the spirit behind the law that should be consulted in times like this. Please, restore this man back to his community!
I think that if this gentleman has been working as a teacher in the united states for over 13 years, getting paid not under the table but paying taxes every year he deserved to stay, he is a help not only to the students but also to the econamae, why send him back to be killed, I have friend from other countries who can attest to the fact that this man will be put to death once he returns back to his country, and I'm sure that as a leader of this country you are well aware of other country policies and you are aware of what will happen. Help save his life think of your family how would you feel if it was your family member. may God bless you
I’m writing you with an urgent appeal about an outstanding Boston teacher,Obain Attouoman. Since his arrival in the US from the Ivory Coast he has been a model citizen and an outstanding teacher in the Boston, Mass school system. He escape from the Ivory coast where his life was threatened. He applied for political asylum and simply miss read his court date and missed his hearing. Immigration has refused to reschedule his hearing. Please I URGE YOU to stop this injustice and order the immigration service to reschedule his hearing.
Please do not deport this man. He is an asset to the community and posese no threat. We will be losing a wonderful individual if you do not reverse the decision.
What kind of message are you sending to our youth? Does the U.S. give our youth an example of fair treatment of the world's population or oppression? Looks like injustice and oppression to me.
Please allow Obain Auttouoman to stay in this country. This man is a wonderful role model to the kids whom he teaches who has made significant contributions to his adopted country. What are we teaching our kids if we let a good man be deported to a dangerous and undemocratic country?
I am 100% against the deportation of Obain. But I believe that the government will continue to do what it always does, and that is not listen to the people. I am happy to see so many of you signing the petition and voicing your concerns and opinions, but to be completely honest you are all wasting your time. Yes we want the gov't to stop the deportation but will they? NO! They don't care about what we think or how we feel, this is going to be a terrible loss for so many of us, it hurts to admit this fact but its an honest fact. The best that we can do for Obain is pray. Pray that God has mercy on his soul and protects him from harm once he is returned to Africa.
Obain Auttouoman is not a criminal, not a security threat and not looking for a free ride. The message sent by sending him back to a hostile environnment is that we as a nation can't discern what is good for us as a nation without a very fallible system and legislation.
