Please give Mr. Auttouoman an opportunity to plead his case in a court of law. Justice would not be served by deporting him now. His service to our youth should provide enough reason to keep him here.
Please grant Mr. Auttouoman an asylum hearing. Deportation would not only adversely affect the welfare of FHS students, but Mr. Auttouoman himself who may truly be in need of asylum in the U.S.
Please do not deport this man. His work here is a testament to the status of the United States as a place dedicated to the ideals of freedom and justice.
Obain is an amazing individual and excellent teacher. Given the challenges our children face, isn't this the type of person we want in the classroom to help our children excel?
No policy should be so blind as to not to recognize exceptional circumstances.
Let's allow Mr. Auttouoman to stay in the U.S. Not only are math teachers in short supply, but to take a good teacher out midway through the school year is disruptive to the learning process of current students.
It is interesting that a dedicated teacher is being removed without a hearing about his missing an appointment. This contradicts our current administration's theme of "liberty" and "freedom".
Nobody here is any safer after you deport the best math teacher many of the kids at Fenway have ever had... Another example of "Compassionate Conservatism" at work... you sociopath.
This teacher seems to be a valuable resource to this community, and if he has done nothing wrong during his stay here in America, he should not deported.
teachers (especially in urban schools) are desperately needed. why take an excellent teacher away? a solution would be to simply reschedule his court date.
As humans we have the ability to reason, analyze and weigh the consequences of our decisions. Since when is process more important than a human life and the wellbeing of a community? Do the right thing.
Please re-consider this deportation as it does not in any way endanger the United States and will only serve to deprive students of an excellent teacher
With respect, I do not believe that in is in our interest or in any of our traditions to have a "one strike and you're out" policy for immigrants. This man appears to have simply misread a court date on a handwritten letter. An appropriate response from the legal system would entail a new court date, not summary deportation. "He who lives by the sword shall die by the sword"--harshness toward immigrants, or any group, will not serve us.
We need good teachers out there to educate, protect, and open the hearts of our already disenchanted kids. I don't see how the US will benefit from losing this teacher. Please keep him here.
Thanks,
Geraldine Charles
a former BPS teacher.
Good math teachers are hard to find. Do not deport this dedicated teacher. Think about the message you will be sending to Mr. Auttouoman's students if you deport him.
Many young people are watching to see how this situation is handled. An unreasoned, unreasonable bureaucratic decision will possibly place these young people on a path of cynicism towards the US political-judicial system. Ensure that Mr. Obain Attouoman receives the hearing that he deserves.
