What lesson will we be teaching our students about AMerica if this is how we treat refugees who contribute greatly to the society they so want to be a part of?
Don't "leave a child behind" especically when they are so clear in what they want. It is obvious that this man is a wonderful teacher and a benifitial person to those he has interacted with. There mere fact that people are willing to stand up for him is enough proof that he should stay in HIS current COUNTRY, LIFE, JOB, and COMMUNITY!To force him out is a disgraceful slap in the his face and in the face of people that understand what FREEDOM truly is.
Depoprting Mr Obain Attouman for missing an appointment will not teach respect for the law. Procedures are often disobeyed, in light of real circumstances. Please do the right thing.
We need good teachers! Let's get the real threats to our security out of this country, but for goodness sakes, let's recognize productive, hard-working people who contribute positively to our society. Tearing them out of our schools is not the solution!
Thank-you!
Obain Auttouman is a talented teacher. He has motivated his students throughout the years. Clearly his dedication to teaching the children of our country is evident from the support of his current students, past students, and colleagues. It is unjust to deport a man that cares so much about educating Boston's students. This action will hurt his students most of all.
It's sad when you're willing to further sabotage the BPS school system by snatching away good, honest, sincere teachers as fast as you're willing to snatch away our damn funding.
Dear Mr. President,
Our country is based on the principles of freedom and democracy. We
are the pillars that hold up the idea that a participatory republic is
attainable and functional. Mr. Obain Arrouoman has sought political
asylum in the United States because his own nation does not grant
these freedoms. We should not deny individuals the right to live
freely based on their birthplace. Please take action today so that
Mr. Attouoman may stay in our country. He has worked hard to teach
the young people of this country, and deserves to stay and continue to
bring diversity to our students, just as we can bring him freedom. I
strongly urge you to halt the deportation of this wonderful person.
Thank you very much.
MY choice to go to one of the best high schools in boston is gone now but if I had it again I would choose fenway high first choice. If Mr.Auttouoman taught students that wanted to learn than I think he did his job But if bush says "NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND" and takes not only a teacher but a mentor away from doing his job and a little more than "president Bush is not doing his job" as well as leaving 10s, 20s and even 30s of students ,children and even teenagers behind. We as the furture should look to the people who gave this man his job and ask them questions as to why such a man should be a leader of millions and mis lead them into danger!
**I SAY LET MR.AUTTOUOMAN STAY HES DOING HIS JOB**
Please let this good man stay in this country, he is not a criminal, he is an educator, don't we need more of those? had he been European would he have the same problem?
Deporting Mr. Attouoman appears to go directly against the goals of President Bush's No Child Left Behind program. Please help the immigration service be more flexible, sensitive, and sensible.
I believe that you should not make a man leave the country just because he didn't show up to a meeting or an appeal. This man has inspired a numorous amount of youth and high school students and some of which are my friends. Please don't make a man who has accomplishe so much leave the country just for not showing up to a meeting or appeal. At the moment I believe that what you are doing to this man is completely unfair. I also believe that you should give him another chance to show up to an appeal that he should have attended in 1992. Thank you. Sincerely,William S. Hussar.
Come on, this is ridiculous. If this man is safer here than in his own country, and he is clearly making a significant contribution to our ailing school system, why in the world would our government force him to leave? Take one situation at a time, don't blanketly enforce rules. Let him see a judge.
The man made a mistake, it is human. Even though he went to court on the wrong date at least he tried to make an effort. If he hasn't caused any problems then at least give him probation, but don't send him back.
We need to build ourselves and our community from within. Ripping out those who are doing this and working with our youth is destructive. Let Obain teach!
It is a deplorable state of affairs when a good persone who has done no wrong and his only mistake is misreading a form! No much for liberty, freedom, recognizing worth, etc. Please reverse this decision.
Obain is an inspiration to students and teachers alike. A man so rare that he motivates, inspires and encourages the young minds he teaches and the educators he works with. I ask the people making this decision to deport obain one ques...will this create more positive or more negative? Please use your common sense.
Dear Sir or Madam.
Teachers are not only the backbone of our society, but they are a treasure trove of wisdom that can give life to the imagination of our future leaders.
For some reason we have created an environment where being a teacher is not the highest of professions. For some reason when have created an environment where being a teacher can be the most difficult job in America.
And now, for some reason, we are now going to ship-out one of those rarely found Great Teachers, who cannot only reach past the media-mucked heads of our children… our future. But can inspire them to this sort of ‘good fight.’
This man has taught freedom and liberty, he has taught the American dream. And I am ashamed that only these young men and women can see it.

Give the man a chance to meet before a judge before deporting him at least. If we as a society set up laws to protect ourselves from terrorism and then those laws are so rigidly enforced as to trample on common sense and humanity, then what is the society that we are protecting really worth?
Do not deport Obain Auttouoman, as he is a quality person and teacher in the Boston Public Schools that has tremendously impacted the lives of our children. To deport him would be a grave error in judgement and would adversly affect the lives of hundreds of school children. Thousands of registered voters are closely awaiting your decision.
Here you have a person who is giving back to the community and the youth of today. He's having a positive influence on the children, don't take that away. Give him a chance to tell his story in court.
If we found a way to give illegal aliens licenses, we should some how be able to find a way to be able to keep a good teacher who means so much to his school, his community, and the Commonwealth of Mass. Perhaps he can get an extended probation period like the Enron executives who have done a greater injustice to children by stealing their families' retirement funds than Mr Auttouoman
has done. This is America. deporting MR Auttouoman is unAmerican. These children and probably their parents and friends will never vote for the Republican party
again. Say hello and goodbye to their votes.
Please act responsibly toward our youth. Choose to endorse the values of freedom and honor that this nation was founded upon, and not let them be overrun by petty bureaucracy. Allow Mr Auttouman to remain in this country.
