4 Mar 2005 - 2:36    Ivan Rhudick : This man is clearly not a threat to our national security, but rather a symbol of the opportunity we provide to oppressed people everywhere, and a great benefit to our already burdened school system. Deporting him would be both unjust, and a tragedy.
4 Mar 2005 - 2:37    Allison Azersky :
4 Mar 2005 - 2:38    Jeanne Winner : It seems important to be reasonable in deciding reasons for deporting people. Being mistaken about a court date is a terrible reason for deporting anyone. And to deport a good teacher, really horrible! Please make sure this man is not deported and can continue to teach. Jeanne Winner
4 Mar 2005 - 2:38    Bevin : All of you who organized this are Americans that the rest of us should strive to be more like, best of luck!
4 Mar 2005 - 2:38    Ted Lechterman : Deportation for misreading a hearing date? Sounds like cruel and unusual punishment to me.
4 Mar 2005 - 2:39    Doris Tennant : This country is hardly an example of a freedom loving nation if it acts capriciously to deport Mr. Auttouoman.
4 Mar 2005 - 2:39    Maura Russell : Please act to prevent this tragic deportation.
4 Mar 2005 - 2:39    Karley Ausiello :

4 Mar 2005 - 2:40    Rev. Stefan M. Jonasson : Dear Mr. President and Secretary Chertoff: I have just learned of the plight of Mr. Obain Auttouoman, who feces deportation from the United States for what appears to be an innocent mistake in appearing for his asylum hearing on the wrong date. If would be a mockery of justice if a procedural error, on whoever's part, led to a premature decision to deport Mr. Auttouoman. Please allow him to remain in the United States at least long enough to receive a fair and just hearing, so that his status will be decided on the merits of his case rather than a procedural technicality. The greatness of America is rooted in its compassion and respect for persons in the pursuit of justica and order. Please create the window of time and opportunity for Mr. Auttouoman to plead his case.

4 Mar 2005 - 2:42    Siobhan O'Donoghue :
4 Mar 2005 - 2:43    Bonnie Plottner : Our schools need more civil servants like Mr. Auttouoman, not fewer. We elect officials who will use their judgement, not act blindly. Please, use your judgement in this case.

4 Mar 2005 - 2:49    Carrie Lau :
4 Mar 2005 - 2:49    Helaine Simmonds : Mr. President and Mr. Chertoff, we have to be able to distinguish between the good people we want to keep here and others that deserve to be deported. Otherwise, our system is a sham and a disgrace to our immigrant roots.
4 Mar 2005 - 2:49    Mariko Taniguchi : Mr. President, Mr. Chertoff, Please help these students keep their teacher! I am an educator at the Museum of Science in Boston who has had the pleasure of getting to know Obain AND his students. Every Tuesday, his students spend the morning with me -it is the highlight of my week as they are an amazing class of teenagers. I know that Obain's role as their teacher has been a fundamental part of their education. Fenway High, the community of Boston, and the U.S. cannot afford to lose a teacher like him. Please, help him stay in the United States and show our country and the world how much we value those who are effective educators of our youth! Thank you.
