A weekly photo journal company called Friday has been going around Japan, scouting out and tracking down famous Japanese idols, taking pictures of them at the worst moments. Last year, they have ruined a young girl named Mari Yaguchi's career by becomming the paparazzi nobody wants around and taking pictures of her on a date with a young actor.

What had really sparked me to make this petition is when I heard the news of Kago Ai being caught smoking and has had pictures taken of her, which are being relased on news stands today in Japan (Febuary 10th).

Kago is underage, she had just turned 18, and the legal smoking age in Japan is 20. I know this is wrong, but there is no way that they can stop her, it is a personal choice, and they should be focusing on the 10 year olds that are smoking every two minutes. This is wrong on so many levels to just focus on one person because they are a little more famous than the rest of the population. I don't think it's wrong, and I bet a lot of you will also agree with me.

It is an invasion of a personal life that should be stopped. Many of my friends and I have looked carefully over the photo journal company Friday and think that they should back off. They scout down these people to ruin their careers and I think it should be illegal to do such a thing.

If people in the spotlight are caught doing something out of line, it gets noticed more than someone such as a normal member of the public. I don't find that right, not at all.

I understand paparazzis are heartless people bent on invading personal lives, but doing it to ruin someone's career is just stepping out of line. Friday should be taken out of business, or just made back down a little.

So, before anyone else's careers are destroyed, petition against Friday and save the idols of Japan! ;l

(And by the way, Hello! Project and Friday shouldn't be blaming Kago Ai for smoking underage, they have cigarette and beer vending machines ALL over Japan.)
