Currently, in Montgomery County Maryland; if you are caught opperating a motor vehicle under the influence of alchohol you are not taken to jail. You are merely relieved of your license and given a paper to replace it for an "x" amount of days. After which you may go to the MVA and get your license back in some cases. I believe there should be stricter penalties for such gross neglect for human rights and safety. If you drink and drive you should IMMEDIATELY go to jail. I am petitioning the re examination of this law in hopes that law makers share our concerns and get these "killer" off our streets.
