As a 15 year old student of Malibu High, me and my friends as well as adults are discouraged at what is about to happen over at Point Dume Plaza. It has come to our attention that they are going to kick out all the good resturants and other good stores to make new probably fashion boutiques and expensive resturants. We love our little resturants and such, and destroying them to make way for these probably over-expensive things is unbearable to watch. We have many little resturants like a point pizza, a place called Lilies, two banks, and a video store called zuma video. If they take these places away, we'd have to go all the way out to Cross Creek or even farther. Most of us who live on Point Dume need these places like the Bank of America or Washington Mutual. If the people in the business think that making these places will help rake in money or help tourism, well they're dead wrong. If they want to build these things, they should build them in Beverly Hills or somewhere where we don't need to worry about. So please help by signing this petition and don't change the Plaza!

I hope the bullying landlord gets the bad press he deserves. If you want Gucchi, go to cross creek. They've already ruined that end of Malibu. This is not Beverly Hills. This is not a city. Mom and Pop stores deserve to stay. The residents of Malibu need to stand up for what they believe in and not let rich fat cats come in from the outside and destroy what is left of our beautiful, distinctive town.

Our whole city is changing. Every shopping center we have is in transition. No one seems to be thinking of the family population. We are not in need of another Rodeo Drive in our little community

Malibu is one of the last vestiges of a community and what that entails in the greater Los Angeles community. Thus, kicking out those components, such as the Dume Plaza, that make a community possible in exchange for a tourist center will destroy the gem that is Malibu and destroy peoples' incentive to pay millions of dollars to live in Malibu. Thus, hurting every part of the Malibu economy

Dume Plaza is a critical component of the greater Malibu community. It should stay the way it is to ensure its ability to continue prociding this valuable service.

The administration at Malibu High School would be very surprised to learn that Lenny Shaw is promoting himself as a "youth mentor" at MHS when no such position exists. Oh...I support this petition wholeheartedly.

I support this petition. I think the long term planning is shaky. It seems to be motivated more by greed than by concern for the community. I'd love to see the place get a face-lift, but without the whole "new businesses" debacle attached to it.

Malibu has always been in my mind a paradise, a haven for people to come to and enjoy. Some greedy people are trying to turn it into a concrete playground for the rich like Monte Carlo or Beverly Hills. They won't actually live here. They will exploit the natural beauty of Malibu and then live other places, that they have not destroyed. Let's unite and stand up against them, like we did the natural gas project. Let's keep Malibu natural and a place that everyone can enjoy forever.
