(Me, as a student's perspective) Recently after our winter break, many students returned to school and on the first day back, during lunch, many have discovered that our mini water bottles we usually had as an option to have for our meal, was taken away! How absurd, right!? Who can live without water? We still are able to choose from milk and juice, but very few students choose milk and a handful do not drink the juice. Many students prefer water because it is much more healthier and a thirst quencher. Doctors, teachers, coaches, and health advisors tell us to drink at least 1.9 Liters of water a day! How can we reach this daily goal without the option of water in our lunch meals?

Although we still have our water fountains, those (in many student's opinions) taste as if it had come straight from the ground, sewer, toilet, etc. and not filtered. Maybe if they could filter our water fountains more efficiently, then no one would be complaining about the loss of our mini water bottles.

I go through the day hearing, "Man, I'm thirsty," quite a lot. I, myself, can not live a day without a glass of water. Now a days, I have to either remember to bring a water bottle to school or buy one from the school. This however, is not a solution to the problem. There are students who can't afford to buy water everyday or even buy a pack of water from another store.

I've asked the lunch ladies about this situation, and they tell me that they don't know why the water has been taken away, but through research and surveys, it seems that water was taken out of the budget and the school's who can still afford it, can keep it. Well, even if the school may be short on funds, they could still take out a different beverage! Milk!? Juice!? We could've at least had a vote on which products we preferred most!

To cut this short, we, students, need our water back! Who can focus in class with an unquenched thirst!?

I support this petition, in that, milk is more expensive than water. Students do not drink the milk, anyways. The water company makes more money because 98% of students will buy the water. Water is healthier because it does not have high fructose corn syrup like chocolate milk, or any of the other ingredients used to enrich "taste". This doesn't help the economy, either, in that the school is wasting money on unused milk rather than much used water.

I support this petition. The water is what I choose from my lunch other than the main food. I'm sad that there's no more water bottles. I always hear my friends complaining about being thirsty from P.E. the period before lunch. The fountain taste nasty, so he doesn't drink from it. So, i support this petition. Alot.
