I would like to file a petition with regards to enacting a ban on listening to loud music w/bass in vehicles. Here is the law within my county for noise pollution: Adopted by the Suffolk County Legislature 12-7-1999 by L.L. No. 41-1999. The law states that: This Legislature further finds that many persons cause excessive noise through the use of radios and amplifiers and other devices that play music, including boom boxes, which can be deleterious to the health, safety and general well being of the public. However the county allows the sale and use of electronic devices that increase the noise decibels in a sound system which can be installed in a motor vehicle. I know that I am not the only one that is annoyed everytime a car pulls up along side with their sound system's volume, bass so loud that it actually vibrates my entire vehicle as well. I also live somewhat close to a fairly busy county road and when they pass by or stop at a traffic light nearby, again the vibration rattles my house. This goes on at all times of the day and night. These kids and/or adults have no respect for anyone in the neighborhood their traveling through. Please help with your signatures.
