PETA is truly upsetting to me. Recently I sent an email to them pertaining to their current ads involving nude socialites and celebutantes as well as promoting nudity for their protests. Part of their site refers to the 'sexy PETA ladies' stripping down for protests against KFC. Tell me what nude women has to do with KFC chicken slaughtering practices? This continuous degradation and objectification of women is disturbing and deplorable. The latest stint was the ad they tried to put on for the Superbowl that featured very obvious sexual undertones with women in lingerie. Even adolescents are smart enough to pick them up. Their striking 180 turn in morality has made their cause for animal rights seem to vanish. You can't support the ethical treatment of animals but support an unethical and mysogynistic view of women. Thats like going to certain parts of the globe and protesting animals being locked in cages but ignoring the plight of women who can't even leave the house without permission or being covered from head to toe. There are children starving on different continents and PETA complains that we should all eat soy turkey tofu protein veggie patties on organic locally baked multi grain buns. Sometimes you have to slaughter a cow or pig to feed a village. That is life and we are at the top of the food chain. Their other trend of equating tragic events like the Holocaust to the treatment of animals is disgusting. Using scare tactics such as Ronald McDonald wielding a knife around little children is sick. Racial insensitivity such as wearing KKK costumes at AKC shows as if this is an equivalent to the cruelty of LYNCHING and TORTURING human beings is unbelievable. I would be that any member of PETA, other than their psychotic leader, would not want to see their own family abused or tortured in place of a raccoon or possum, or suffer the wrath of a devastating or debilitating disease because they created such an uproar against animal testing for a new vaccine or potential cure. I will not apologize for valuing human life over a chicken, dog, cat, rat, monkey or any other animal species that is below us on the food chain.
