I just learned of this a few days ago. I could hardly believe what I was seeing. Then to see an audience cheering them on. It's a shame humans stoop so low to profit from and/enjoy animal suffering.

I support this petition. this is horrifying and distastful. i have been riding horses for 9 years and it makes me so sad that this happens. i mean it's ok if it happens naturaly but not when it is set up. the fuckers how make animals die need to suffer the same fate as the horses and other animals that fight

i knew people did stupid stuff like this with dogs, but not with horses. i love my horses and everytime i see or meet a horse i fall in love with it too. i dont think this is right or fair to them.wild horses fight yes, but like every other wild animal they have a choice and their in the open so if they want to run they can. to you idiots who think this is fun or cool. try being forced to fight someone twice your size. dont do it to on these magnificant animals. just go die or something

Wow..I' didn't even know of such fights. This is the first I've ever heard of horse fighting. Maybe it was some guy who got bored with the pit bulls? Either way, it DOES seem very cruel, and a waste of time at that. That's a lot of money down the drain for the owner who lost his horse. It should be stopped..immediately.

People bet on horse fights!? Wow! Is this kind of thing exclusive to upper echelons of society? Horses don't come cheap, and with it being a fight to the death and all...
And the stallion doesn't even get the mare at the end? You'd think they would at least grant their champion that much. Seems like positive reinforcement for future fights.
I should probably add that I do think pitting horses in Mad Max style battles is fucked up.
