Homelessness is a very serious issue in this country and all over the world. There are so many people left on the streets because the shelters are full, some even dying due to extreme heat or cold. I feel that part of the contribution to the problem of homelessness is harsh eviction policies put into place in some areas, and it leaves renting families hit hard with financial hardships stuck between a rock and a hard place when resources for rental assistance are limited.

I feel that with more lenient policies in place or at least more flexible options as far as payments on rent are concerned, struggling families may have more of a fighting chance. They may be able to avoid not only being lumped in the category of those who may abuse the privilege and deliberately not pay their rent, but they will also avoid adding on to the already large population of the homeless.
