We believe that the current tax credit is not working.
We call for the system to be scrapped, for all current overpayments to be disregarded, and that all action to recover previous overpayment should cease.
We call for fair compensation to be paid to all those with a legitimate claim against the Tax Credit Office.
We ask that the Government immediately investigates the failings of the Tax Credit System and publishes a full and frank report of how, why, and where the system failed and recommendations for how best to avoid such an occurence in the future.

We moved this year, phone to tell tax credits, they made a mistake and put us down as separated! Terminated our claim and didn't borther telling us. Three months on and still not sorted! Get rid...Claim compensation!!!!!

I have been a single mother who has worked whilst bringing up three children alone. I have really struggled and my health has been affected. WTC were a godsend (it seemed). Now I have been asked to pay back nearly £4,000. I feel desperate.

The CTC office in badly run and poorly managed. you can phone on two seperate occasions and get compleatly different results to the same information. They are also overzelous in claiming back overpayments fining you a whole years tax credit for being late with your reveiw pack. £1000 in my case but i have read of some being in the thounsands. Run some one over in your car, punch someone in a pub, get caught with drugs the fine is a few hundred pounds be late with the CTC form and it could be thousands. do you think the crime fits the punishment!!!!!!!

my family and i have been left to struggle due to this crazy system.as a single parent with a disabled child, im far worse off now than i ever was due to their constant errors, and cant see an end to all the stress

this is ridiculess...the system has failed...i was in hardship before tax credits...and i am now in dire straights...i apparently owe over £6000 and i had always given them the correct and up to date details

Why i am being penalised yet again another demand for over £3500 payable within one month arrived. I am at the point of suiocidal depression . Why did brown do this > he should be made to suffer like all those families he has caused such stress to.

We have kept the 'powers that be' informed of all changes to our circumstances and we have been told we owe them £2000. This figure rises every year, even though our current payment from them is £0 and has been for over a year. I wish we'd never signed up for tax credits. It seems you are penalised for bettering your status/income. Stay on benefits and you're OK. Get a job and suddenly you're in debt. What a way to encourage people into work!!

Tax Credits... a complete and utter farce, GET RID.I phoned them today to end my claim as i want nothing more to do with them after being over payed and having to pay it all back, they don't care and don't take your financial situation into consideration, on the telephone i was told i cannot end my claim to tax credits... are they having a laugh! A complete infringment on MY human
