EQUALITY NOW! PASS HB 5!
Stats RSS Download
It is 2009. Yet, in Delaware, gay, lesbian, and transgendered citizens have no legal protection from discrimination in housing, employment, or insurance. That is right; gay and lesbian citizens can be legally fired, denied insurance or housing simply for being gay.

Over the last decade, there have been several attempts to pass non-discrimination legislation. Every year, the bill has passed the House and failed in the Senate. But this year can be different!

You have an opportunity to make history. As you read this, the General Assembly of Delaware is considering House Bill 5, legislation which would end discrimination against gays and lesbians in employment, housing, and insurance.

In accordance with our nation's constant pursuit of equality and basic civil rights for all, we, the undersigned, passionately urge the State Senate of the State of Delaware to pass HB 5. In addition, we also urge the General Assembly to pass an amendment to this bill in order to protect gender identity.
