This is ridiculous. Why do you only support closed formats ? Are you a partner of those companies in order to not promote open and free formats ?

Sounds like it's just shorted too much. It should read like: Using the WMV-Format we cannot support Linux in a legal way. But it does not exclude the possibility to request this feature from Microsoft or (even better) use Realmeadia or OGG/Theora (which is OPEN!!!).

Governments should get out of the habit of favoring specific private interests over community-created alternatives that any private interest may benefit from, especially when the favored interests are convicted monopolies. Governments should help reduce monopolies, not grow them. Even more so when the wrong choices lead every citizen to choose between giving up their freedom or being left out of the process.

I am a taxpaying citizen of the European Union who uses a European compiled distribution of Linux. I should be able to access its services free from discrimination ans without requiring the products of foreign monopolies. If the EU cannot be bothered to provide services in this way then they should not provide these services at all and be more responsible with our money.
