Encore un exemple de la schizophrénie de nos institutions. Une partie se bat pour l’interopérabilité et contre le monopole de Microsoft pendant que se laisse imposer un format de transmission vidéo propriétaire et complètement verrouillé. Effectivement le support du format WMV sous Linux est illégal si on tient compte des brevets logiciels. Seulement voilà, en Europe ils ne sont pas encore légaux !

L'UE semble contredire ses actions. D'un côté, il y a quelques mois, elle amène en justice Microsoft pour monopole et de l'autre côté, elle défend le monopole du géant "copyrigthé" de partout. De plus, énormément le formats audio-vidéos libres existent, comme l'OGG. Pourquoi ne pas utiliser ce format-ci?

C'est là la preuve de la schysophrénie des autorités européennes. D'un coté, on entend presque tous les jours parler de ministères ou de villes qui disent vouloir migrer à Linux (et qui ne le font presque jamais d'ailleurs). Mais cela reste le seul moyen de pression que ces autorités ont pour que Microsoft baisse les prix de ses licences. C'est les premiers à encourager les abus de position dominante de Microsoft!!! D'un autre coté, le discour officiel selon lequel l'union européennes a adopté l'ODF (format de document s libre) pour l'interopérabilité, la sécurité bla bla bla. En fin de compte ce n'était pas la vraie raison, et ce qui vient de se passer en est la preuve... le format OGG est libre, et tant qu'un format n'est pas libre (ou qu'il est mal spécifié), on ne peut pas réellement parler d'intéropérabilité... Mettez des DRM tant que vous y êtes.
