I think the EU should use or at least support OSS.
The EU is fighting Microsoft's monopoly position but at the same time they are helping them.
It is understandable that they want to use the OS the majority of population uses but there absolutely should be support for open-source formats!
First they force M$ to sell a Windows N (without Media Player), and then they start a vidcast with the same Windows Media Player?
Not very smart, if you ask me. The reason they can't support Linux is bullshit, and even then... There are so many alternatives to Windows Media!
The Dutch have a nice idiom to describe this: 'Je eigen ruiten ingooien'.
I thought that Europe was against closed standards...now they have chosen the worst nightmare. There must be someone with a little bit of brains working over-there, not?
I'm surprised that the EU cannot do more to support open source and Linux in general. I am also surprised that they are so out of touch on their browser support !
Depuis quand est-ce illégal d'utiliser autre chose que du >WMV?
Depuis quand est-ce illégal de supporter linux?
Y a des excuses à laisser au placard et je crois que là nous en avons un beau spécimen.
A international organization for the people should choose a format that is accessible on all pc systems so that all THESE people can access that information.
This is truly a shameful decision. Are US software lobbies really powerful enough to override both EU and national laws regarding free and equal access to information? Please prove I'm wrong!
