supposed to be there? Anyone who does is just sick |

Yep :
My cat was declawed and nuetered by it's previous owners, now
it's turn gay. I'm against declawing, it's a cruel
practice that could turn your cat into a sissy little ******. Imagine how
painful that would be, and all of this for keeping your funiture in good
shape. Declawing should be banned because it's too cruel to let
your cat go through life without claws or turn gay.
Besides, they have teeth too, and when they're declawed and pissed
they go after your legs, they definitely know how to use them. |

CATS RULE :
Another reason to like the Italians!
Put this as a law in America, George.
I say punishment for declawing is having your Fingernails and Toenails
RIPPED OFF PERMANNENTLEY.

A friend of my daughters just found her cat mauled by 'the family
dog'.
The cat was declawed and accidently got outside. The dog killed it.
If it had claws it could have defended itself or climbed a tree or fence
to get away.
I don't understand why it is legal to declaw a cat. Or even to doc a
dobermans ears or tail for aesthetic purpouses.
They should all be illegal because they are cruel, painful and sadistic.
Animals have feelings and intelligence. And they should also have choices
and rights just as we do. |

I support this petition. Declawing is most unnecessary in almost all cases
- I'd consider an only exception for a person to have developed a
problem that would cause scratching to have the most negative effect
possible. |

Barbarella :
Declawing is NOT like cutting fingernails. It´s an AMPUTATION of the last
digit of each finger. Try to imagine YOU having that operation/mutilation
done to your own hands and then having to walk on tip toes. Get it? There
are REASONS why it´s illegal in most countries in the world. I
wholeheartedly support this petition.

I support this petition 100%. Declawing is a sadistic and barbaric
practice carried out on animals who have no choice in being multilated and
denied the tools to defend itself. For those who support it? Let's
have another petition calling for them to have their fingers and toes
amputated, see how THEY like it . |

I support this petition and have signed many like it. Declawing is animal
abuse. Anyone having their pet declawed is an animal abuser and should not
be allowed to own animals. Vets who declaw animals should not be allowed to
practice.
How would you like having your toes or fingers shopped off half way down?
Huh? |

I am not a cat-lover but the declawing of cats is barbaric, inhumane and

that way! |

I support this petition because the act of de-clawing is butchery and
disfiguring cats, if you don't want it to claw the furnature or scratch
you either get the claws proffesionally clipped, get a scratching post or
DONT GET A CAT |

I support this petition. If I had known how evil declawing really was, at
the time, I would have sued my Mom over it. My Mom declawed my cat Matilda,
for her convenience. Matilda happened to be living at her house, because I
was living at a place that wouldn't let me have a cat. Matilda happened
to like a particular windowsill downstairs and used it for her scratching
pleasure. She didn't tare up anything else in the house but that sill.
My parents had remodeled the house a few years earlier and my Mom
complained that Matilda was just getting paint and wood chips everywhere!
She finally got her a Scratching Post, but it didn't do any good,
because I was not living at home at the time and no one taught Matilda how
to use the post. I would have worked with her on it, if my mom had given me
a chance, but she called me up one day, told me that Matilda was going in
to get declawed and even though Matilda was mine, she was living in her
house, so my mom had a right to do whatever she liked with her. I was
furious and felt that it was extremely wrong, even before Matilda went to
the Vet. When I saw her afterwards on the drive home, my heart wept for
her. She had been so traumatized by the experience, that she went to the
bathroom all over herself in the carrier on the way home. She's never
done that before, or since. Mom and I had to clean her off and when I saw
those poor little paws with no claws on the front ones, I felt like my
heart would break! If she were attacked by something now, she would have no
way to fight back! She still goes outside, but she's defenseless and
she knows it. She's never climbed a tree since and she used to love
them!! She still kills animals, but she can't get away, or scratch if
she needs too and that kills me! Fortunately for me, Matilda still has her
old personality, but I've heard stories where the cat's personality
changes after that horrible experience and why should |

I support this petition. declawing is a cruel things to put a cat thru.
they can easily become crippled and worse. i adopted my Luci from my local
Humane Society and was shocked to find that she was declawed...not just her
front paws, but her hind paws as well! :( poor baby cant even scritch
herself properly. :( her previous owners should never own another cat.
mutilating an animal for human convenience or simply because youre too lazy
to train it not to claw your stuff, is ridiculous and needs to be banned.
