i have been trying to get this out for about 5 months now and i had to do something

MTV has taken top forty boy bands with guitars and made them icons and they don't deserve it at all(Ex. simple plan,story of the year,good charlotte,the killers,the used-who used to be all right i guess,yellow card,avril livigne,ashlee simpson dashboard confessional and of course switchfoot. i'm sad to say that almost everyone is either a "prep" or is in to the fake music or classic rock. there are a few kids at my school that listen to real music. i'm not saying that all these kids should get slaughtred in the streets but they need to be stopped. I'm hoping this starts a revolution.

the thing is i have like over 3000 students at my high school, and there are no posers. im actually the only one that is kinda punk. but there are a few goths and metalheads and no emos. but there are ****ing hundreds of scene kids. like it is a scene/skater invasion and i want to kick there skinny jean asses. ****ing retards.

I happen to live the punk experience,i live in a s*itty little mobile home with a crazy family and i go out once a week and pay good money to see punk rock,or whatever got into the show that night.I'm not one of those people who hates people who dont like what i do, if youre not punk, good, you probably have a good thing going.But if youre one of those tools who thinks theyre punk because they picked up a nice little fasion off of a website, you shouldnt be allowed to breathe.I dont care what kind of person you are,posers are a must-not.And yes, the preppy bitches who run in cliques are posers too, don't let them lie to you.

Isn't this poser issue actually quite beneficial? I mean, if the 'posers' are interested in 'fake' punk, that can be interpreted as being very relieving, as they aren't going to become involved with the 'real' punks and plague that scene. Just accept that there are traditional punks and mainstream punks, and that each are within completely different categories. The mainstream punks won't understand the concept of 'real' punk or gain access to the music if you morons would STOP preaching what punk is. Let them have their 'poser' music, and 'real' punks can have their elitist 'underground' subculture. Like the petition creator mentioned, it's just a phase. Therefore it's harmless. Once they decide to latch on to another subculture, you guys will obviously remain, assuming you all don't grow out of it as well before this occurs... Punks do not need to resort to annihilating their own subculture. And besides, it's adolescent-oriented anyway. Why concern yourselves with preserving it?

It's sickening. For centuries people have taken good things and picked at them so fucing much that they turn into this pathetic fake version of the original.. and I think it all revolves around money. Mtv lovers obviously love the music because they believe that's what's IN and what's cool so automatically they have to obsess over it. Once you open your eyes up to different cultures and types of music it's hard to get back into that shallow box. Blah.

Amen. I mean I don't care for thier music, but the fake punk thing ticks me off. I'd say avril is responible for about half of the punk posers. Green Day, though I like their music, has brough punk into the pop scene and made it a new fad for the preps to fallow, and it ticks me off. I Hate preps like Hilary Duff but I would kiss her feet if she got these posers back to prep ways and out of my face.

ok, let's fet one thing straight people. Story of the Year no longer fall under the catergory of mainstream **** rock. Their new album is a harcore/metal album that really represents who they are. If you ever saw them live you would know that that just isn't who they really are. John Feldman produced that album, so blame him. Go out and buy "In the Wake of Determination" now. I know what I'm talking about. By the way, Green Day was never really a punk band. They were originally a post-grunge band, but slowly transitioned into the pop **** they are now. Real punk would be Minor Threat, Black Flag, the Subhumans, etc. Story of the Year isn't a mainstream **** band anymore!!!
