Corruption in Government is perceived as the abuse of public power and authority for private and other group gains. Forms of corruption include acceptance of money or other rewards for awarding contracts, violation of procedures to advance personal interests, kickbacks from development programs or multi-national corporations, pay-offs for legislative support, diversion of public resources for private use, overlooking illegal activities, intervening in the justice process, nepotism, tax collection and tax assessment frauds.
The overall development of a country is affected by corruption as it affects the economic growth, political development and administrative capacity of a country. However, Elimination of corruption cannot be realistically anticipated until certain fundamental changes have taken place such as the passage of Senate Bill Nos. 1760 and 1761.
i definitely agree with the senate bill nos. 1760 and 1761. these bills should have been suggested/formulated/crea ted and approved before. at any rate, i am hoping for a positive result in terms of preventing graft and corruption.
Seeing today's economic conditions has created in many Filipinos a sense of urgency to depart. I wonder what the Philippines will be like when even the used-to-be nationalists and patriotic citizens are now losing hope on the future of our nation, only because of unstoppable, shameless corruption.
Senate Bill Nos. 1760 & 1761 are timely & novel what with well-known Catholic groups are rallying behind the economic upliftment of Filipino poor families. The bills when passed will also stamp a historical move that transparency in a government is one effective measure to make a country prosperous & stable.
totohanan na dapat to..if dis bills dont get approvd, there will be greater chances and probabilities of corruption and economic crisis.we dont want a dead country, so we better protect ourselvs from those hu try to grab hold of the country's wealth..people pay the government to benefit from it, and not to be deprived of the benefits promised by the government.people put officials in position in order to serve them well, not to rob them thru taxes..let us hope for a better future for our country...and work for it.
This bill cannot be passed without the support of our people.
Let's make the Philippines a better nation. I fervently hope, once this gets enacted, that the government will have the BALLS to properly implement it otherwise then this would just be a futile waste of time, energy and the tax payers money.
I want to see my tax DOING something good for the nation and not just going into someone else's pockets for self gain.
I salute the author of the propose bill but I doubt that it will be implemented mas marami pa ring silang corrupt sa government!!! well its worth the try. gud luck sa Pinas and more power Sen. Mar
Let's do it ASAP. Corrupt people are the weeds of our society. Filipionos are hardworking people but corrupt individuals are wasting their efforts and sacrifices!
great idea, i hope we should also raise money in the u.s. to fund the prosecution of currupt officials. this will make this body independent from our politicians and i hope another bill will jump start this idea.
It's time to take action now. or else, where going to loose a lot of smart filipinos going abroad for better pasture. In america, we have a filipino General in the U.S. Army, and also, filipino senators. It's ashame our smart people are going abroad. Is there any smart people left in the Philippines?
Nice approach Mr Mar "Palengke" Roxas.
whatever happens this bill will NOT succeed if people in the government has the god-damn political will to implement the laws of the land. do away with "lagay system", "palakasan/kumpare system", double standards, etc. the country will only progress if people in the government follow the law they themselves have made. philippines will only progress if there is genuine discipline from people. just think of singapore, thailand, taiwan, vietnan. we are slowly lagging behind.
