it's about time that we take a closer look to our elected officials. once they are elected, they are public properties already. the salary that they are receiving are all people's taxes.why should they be afraid if they are not doing anything stupid and not hiding anything from the public. go for it.
Why limit it to the Ombudman? Since one is a public servant then one must be transparent to the public as well. This would have to inlude the immediate family members of the official as well.
I just hope that along with the passage and approval of this bill is its proper execution and strict implementation. Hope this one won't be just a waste of time and effort.
I am supporting this idea to enable us to give a brighter future to our people. If our public officials have nothing to hide, then this bill should not be a threat to any of them. Transparency will promote trust from the Filipino people as well as future foreign and local investors.
It's about time. Sayang ang mga binabayad na buwis kung sa mga corrupt government officials lamang mapupunta at hindi sa proyektong makakapagunlad ng bansa. Go for it expose corrupt officials and bring them to hell.
as a filipino worker abroad. it is advisable for filipino fathers to work abroad for the sake of the their families. In that way they can help their families and encourage tourist, promotes foreign visitors and investors to the country.
Only those with personal interest to protect will not support this kind of bill. Sana lang pursigihin din ng author and pag-lobby sa mga kasama nyang legislators para maipasa ito, otherwise, wala ring mangyayari. It will also be a test to Sen. Roxas will and convincing power. Good luck Senator!
Just hoping majority of our congressmen & senators are not also hiding "something" to pass these bills. If the bills get low support from legislators, then it publicly manifest something concerning our law makers.
Graft and corruption is really rumpant in the Philippines and these bills are timely. Since graft and corruption immanates from appointees from whom the President owes something sometime during election, can this priveledge be limited by requiring apppointees to be CSC eligibles and must have at least served the government 5 years or 10 years prior to the appointment?
I hope if this bill does get passed that it will not add to the plethora of laws that are not being implemented. The law is just one point of departure. Let us do our part in overturning a culture of corruption, starting with who and where we are!
I love the Philippines but had to leave for my children's sake. I am saddened by the news I read about my beloved country and even more sadder that my children won't be impressed with what they'll read about it. Please, it's about time to do something about corruption in our country.
We will have to start somewhere and soon ,and these initial Bills of Sen.Roxas are commendable but with almost all corrupt legislative members of the congress will it progress ? All we do is pray .
its about time that we citizens do something about the corruption in our country. it is only our children but the future children who would suffer. we must ALL ACT NOW!!! though this is deeply rooted but if we don't do something about it, nothing would change. i pity those who work hard to imrpove this country and still they re the ones being punished for those corrupt people.
I FULL SUPPORT THE INTENTIONS OF THIS ACT, THE PROBLEM IS IMPLEMENTATION. WHY DO OFFENDORS HAVE TO GIVE PERMISSION FOR THE OMBUDSMAN TO INVESTIGATE? SEEMS WRONG. GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS SEN> ROXAS!
I remember reading in our History books how the Philippines was once the Tiger of Asia instead of the psuedo-tiger that it is today. I also remember the times past were poverty was not as prevalent as it is today. Although I believe that corruption cannot be totally eliminated, it can be kept to a minimum by making our elected “public servants” accountable for their deeds and thereby give this lovely country of ours a better future.
Senator Roxas I readily support this Bill. I know many of our legislators and public officials, perhaps almost all will surely block this Bill. I pray that God will give you more power and strength, a tongue that even the toughest will soften and will follow your every words spoken regarding this Bill 1760/1761. God Bless You.
Unless the Philippines gets rid of the corruption there will be practically no foreign investment. This is the shame of the Phillipine people that they turn so many foreigners away from their country. Foreigners don't want to be cheated and asked for extra money on a daily basis and many that might retire in the Philippines do not because of the greed they experience daily.
I dearly believe that this nation will be great again! Let's pray for our leaders that this will be the start of a new beginning and be part of this nation building. GOD BLESS.
go for it! Also there should be a law that will punush SOP or under the table agreements, or "ill buy from you if you give me this" on all government and private organizations
All those who are so called God fearing Christians/Catholics should consider signing this petition to help pass these bills. We need to have leaders that are true to their "FAITH" under the Leadership of our Creator.
Hope this will not just be in paper. Just like so many laws enacted but not implemented properly. But at least, this is a good start. Godbless the Philippines! Mabuhay ang mga nakikipaglaban sa karapatan at kalayaan ng bawat nilalang!
I believed that all public servants took the Oath of Office by swearing to support and defend the Constitution of the Philippines against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that they will bear true faith and allegiance without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion…NOT! These bills might be our last hope…count me in.
I was so disturb when found the word CORRUPT in the dictionary and found the synonym of RAPE, PLUNDER, FRAUDULENT, FAITHLESS etc. Under the word MORALITY, the synonym are GODLINESS, INCORRUPTION, INTEGRITY, CHRISTIAN,SAINTLINESS etc.
Now I understand the PROBLEM and the SOLUTION. We just need to DO IT!
I totally agree....especially with the 2nd one!!! People do know and experience graft and corruption but will not "tell" on officials they have had to deal with simply because these officials could get back to them.
this is our concern being as the citizens of this nation,we could no longer tolerate corruption and other malpractices of our government officials. there will be no better time to act and be awaken, but now!!!
Dapat tanggalin ang mga"Trapo" lalo na yung mga tuta pa ni Marcos at nasa puesto pa hanggang ngayon!Mga balimbing at original na magnanakaw sa gobyerno.
CORRUPTION is EVIL! Unless we, Filipino people PRAY & asked for Jesus Christ divine intervention all our efforts (INCLUDING THESE BILLS) are useless. A verse in the bible. II Cronicles 7:14 says "If my people (Filipino) who are called by my name will HUMBLE themselves & PRAY before me & SEEK my face I will FORGIVE thier sins and HEAL thier lands. Amen!
Let us promote transparency, accountability, and efficiency in government. And, let every Filipino do his/her part in fighting corruption. We can do this!
