Why limit it to the Ombudman? Since one is a public servant then one must be transparent to the public as well. This would have to inlude the immediate family members of the official as well.

Graft and corruption is really rumpant in the Philippines and these bills are timely. Since graft and corruption immanates from appointees from whom the President owes something sometime during election, can this priveledge be limited by requiring apppointees to be CSC eligibles and must have at least served the government 5 years or 10 years prior to the appointment?

I remember reading in our History books how the Philippines was once the Tiger of Asia instead of the psuedo-tiger that it is today. I also remember the times past were poverty was not as prevalent as it is today. Although I believe that corruption cannot be totally eliminated, it can be kept to a minimum by making our elected “public servants” accountable for their deeds and thereby give this lovely country of ours a better future.

Unless the Philippines gets rid of the corruption there will be practically no foreign investment. This is the shame of the Phillipine people that they turn so many foreigners away from their country. Foreigners don't want to be cheated and asked for extra money on a daily basis and many that might retire in the Philippines do not because of the greed they experience daily.
