Mariotti is probably the worst sports journalist in America and his constant criticism of Chicago athletes is a joke and often based on his own desires to play a babyish role of antagonist. I hope he gets severe commuppence at some point in his journalism career and certainly should be fired.
He sucks. Please replace him on ATH with somebody who isn't a deuche bag. The days he isn't on the show are a Godsend. How about less Mariotti and more Michael Smith?
What more can I say? Day in and day out does this pathetic, dimwitted, bandwagon-hopping, venom-spewing excuse of a sportswriter finds ANY excuse to insult my all-time favorite baseball manager, Ozzie Guillien--merely to satisfy his own personal insecurities! And how could any intelligent human being consider this rather cowardly (yes, he IS a coward) lunatic a journalist? As long as he still maintains his job with arguably the WORST newspaper in existence (The Chicago Sun-Times), intelligent, free-thinking, sports fans such as yours truly will never be free of his insufferable presence--after a White Sox game, that is. He should pack up his laptop, take his faithful pals, Greg Couch and Rick Telander, and skip town once and for all.
i have stopped buying the suntimes because of jay mariotti. i want to read journalist that interviews and reports facts instead of giving his dislike for the sport teams i die rooting for.
I TIVO ATH and I skip through everything he says because he is a fucking devil worshiping piece of donkey shit. I hope he rots in hell with the rest of his family.
I have not bought or subscribed to the Sun-Times, nor have I clicked a SINGLE link online, because they employ Jay Mariotti. Also, I instantly change the channel on EVERY program on which he is a guest or participant.
not just the Sun-Times, but Around the Horn, too, please. (Not that I'll watch ATH w/o Mariotti, but it'll be a hell of lot less unpleasant to stumble onto.
Nothing like wild speculative columns with the sole purpose of inciting controversy.
As a columnist - bad, but passable. As a pundit - horribly annoying and loathsome.
Instead of visiting clubhouses and actually doing his job, Mariotti uses his time to get Wikipedia to remove his page.
That and he's only 5'1 and you should be at least 5'8 to have a column in a major newspaper.
