Fire Tim McCarver from Fox Major League Baseball b...
Published October 21, 2004
We, the undersigned, implore the Fox Broadcasting Company to relieve Tim McCarver of his duties as "color man" during Fox’s Major League Baseball broadcasts. The primary reason he should be released is his complete inability to perform the basic duties of a broadcaster. Like everyone else in every other profession, this is enough reason to be let go.

His deficiencies as a broadcaster are far too numerous to list in great detail. However, some of his worst offenses include:

+ A tendency to ramble on for minutes on end about irrelevant or untimely matters during a game.
+ An obvious bias toward certain teams, players, and managers.
+ A frightening lack of knowledge of how baseball is played today, including the effectiveness of different strategies, which serves to mislead a casual observer of the game.
+ An irritating habit of pointing out the most obvious facts of a game (e.g., referring to game 7 of a given series as “the most important game of the season” for a team).

Again, this list is not comprehensive. It only serves as a brief example of why Mr. McCarver should be removed immediately by Fox.
