We, the undersigned, implore the Fox Broadcasting Company to relieve Tim McCarver of his duties as "color man" during Fox’s Major League Baseball broadcasts. The primary reason he should be released is his complete inability to perform the basic duties of a broadcaster. Like everyone else in every other profession, this is enough reason to be let go.

His deficiencies as a broadcaster are far too numerous to list in great detail. However, some of his worst offenses include:

+ A tendency to ramble on for minutes on end about irrelevant or untimely matters during a game.
+ An obvious bias toward certain teams, players, and managers.
+ A frightening lack of knowledge of how baseball is played today, including the effectiveness of different strategies, which serves to mislead a casual observer of the game.
+ An irritating habit of pointing out the most obvious facts of a game (e.g., referring to game 7 of a given series as “the most important game of the season” for a team).

Again, this list is not comprehensive. It only serves as a brief example of why Mr. McCarver should be removed immediately by Fox.

I support this petition wholeheartedly. Tim has a wealth of knowledge and has contributed greatly to the game of baseball, but he is misplaced in this position. He has readily apparent both toward and against individual players and teams and lacks the professionalism to put these aside in his commentary. His animosity toward the Phillies organization - a team he played and announced for - has been apprent throughout this post-season, but never so clearly as when he uttered "devastating" and "simply shocking" in response to two late inning home runs that sealed victory against the LA Dodgers and his favored Joe Torre. Additionally, he deludes himself that he is some sort of an intellectual, attempting to communicate in language and conceptual thinking far beyond his intellectual capacity. To Echo the sentiments above, he talks too much and is perceived as a fatuous bore by more than half of the baseball audience. The imposition by Fox of persistent irritants like Tim McCarver is why many fans watch muted video broadcasts of major sports events or suffer through the annoyance of hearing the play before seeing it when listening to the radio broadcast. Please put him to sleep. He is not, as he apparently believes, the most authoritative mind in the game of baseball. Maybe Joe (I'm not half the announcer my father was" Buck would then stop parroting inane commentary.

I support this petition. I have never realized the biased reporting of this man until tonight. How Fox believes an ex-Phillie can announce a game without bias is beyond me. Aaron, Tampa, Fl.
