Sheer overreaction although there were never many flags at home games due to the club always making it difficult. The Grove is in danger of becoming a giant exhibition centre with no atmosphere.
afc have gone toofar with this ridiculous pc approach-on the one hand they want atmosphere & on the other a graveyard for i fear thats what the emirates will become!!
What a complete joke the club is becoming. One minute thierry requests for the fans to show some passion and create a atmosphere but yet again we are restricted due to the lack of common sense the club fails to show. Bring back the flags and bring back the real Arsenal fans not the corporate ones
The Arsenal is becoming absolutely pathetic in its utter determination in destroying the working class roots and atmosphere of the club.Bring back flags, terracing (even just one section) and reasonable prices.
can I make the point, this is not just a ban on the Arsenal fans displaying flags, the ban applies to all Visiting supporters to the stadium aswell, also it applies to the British Union flag, this is unjust and Arsenal FC's board need to sort this out quickly
This was my letter to Arsenal:

I just wishto complain, in the strongest possible fashion, onthe clubs new
policy on banningInternational flags at the Emirates.
I amreally worried as to where Arsenal Football Clubis heading these days,
with their stanceson agreeing to kick people out from StamfordBridge, last
sunday for brining inflatablemobile phones to the game, yet countless
Arsenal fans were abused & coined in theprocess.
Also kicking people out of the RedSection, earlier this season, for
standingup, after asking loyal gooners to go to thissection & help
increase the noise, onmatch days, and what not...
Itappears that the club, I once claimed to be thepinnacle of
professionalism, has nowturned into a pathetic yielding organization, that
gives into any politically correct schemethought up by some protest group
orminorities.
It appears that if some fallsinto a certain category or minority or
religion, they get preferential treatment overthe loyal, passionate fan,
and a lot ofgooners I know, are getting very angry aboutthis.
I understand that certainpeople may not like to see certain flags, because
of their view on the religion or thepolitics of that particular region, but
toban ALL international flags, because a section ofpeople don't like one,
on display, isbeyond belief.
Are the club going to getrid of the "Fly Israel" ad's, thatappear on the
advertisement boards, duringthe matches, because it offends muslims?
Are the club going to change the arabic signof the Emirates logo, because
it offendsjews?
If you set one presidentagainst flags, then you are going to have tochange
almost every aspect about a matchday, until there is not a single ounce of
passion left... and no passion = no atmosphereand could in turn mean a down
fall, inattendances.
I hope that youreconsider this new policy on flags, before youhave a fan&
I have written to every Arsenal SC worldwide asking them to write to the club regarding this issue, its a disgraceful decision, the online gooner are planning a flag day vs Charlton in protest, lets hope the PC Puppets on the board see we will not allow them to ruin our club.
NB: The Cyprus Branch back our proposal to allow legitmate national flags into the stadium
Illegal flags should be banned, all other flags allowed. It is as simple as that, Arsenal has a global, multicultural following and the flags at the stadium illustrate this.
Please reconsider this over-reaction to a small problem.
It's fantastic to see flags of different (legally recognised) nations at our stadium. It reflects the global village that is Arsenal.
Why should all the fans suffer just because of a one illegal flag; Our Turkish friend should be displaying the Cypriot flag that is for both Greeks and Turks and was designed by a Turkish Cypriot.
