Flags and displays of all kinds heighten the atmosphere in the Emirates Stadium. Anything that hinders the character of our new home is detrimental to Arsenal Football Club.
This goes a little too far. Although the stadium will always look different from Highbury, the atmosphere should be the same, or actually better, as there are 20000 new fans.
I completely oppose the banning of non-political flags.
The club should use their common sense and ask individual flags to be removed but not blanket ban all expressions of nationality.
Another sad example of the club failing to respect the fans. First the removal of our 100 year old Crest now this !
By carrying on in this vein, Arsenal will eventually stamp out any remaining atmosphere at "The Emirates" altogether. Is that what they want ? GOONERS of the world, unite in condemning this crazy crazy ban. It matters not what country you are from or the colour of your skin. What DOES matter is that you are a GOONER ... Up The Arse !!!
I fully support this petition to reinstate the national flags. Please Arsenal, ban the 1 flag that has caused all this mess and dont penalise all fans. THE ORIGINAL FLAG IS NOT A COUNTRY!!
This is b@llocks! When we moved into the grove i was hoping to see flags glory to create an intimidating atmosphere, like what we see in many top grounds in the world. It was some what disappointing to see a lack of flags at the grove!! Arsenal as a club should be encouraging this not banning this. To ban flags completely is CRAZY. Next thing we will have to remove the honours list just been installed because this offends the away supporters. Can we also over turn the ban on singing!!!!!!!
We are an English side representing our nation each season in the Champions League. Does the ban apply to fans of Barcelona, Juventus, Ajax, and anyone else we may face in the Champions League We should be proud to fly the flag of St George.
Our team are now the laughing stock of Europe. We've got a crap stadium; a spineless board; we're in hock to the Emirates and charge our fans the earth to watch a load of old tosh.
New Stadium = Big shiny white elephant (though much, much quiter than an elephant). I loved the games at highbury. The flag issue is just a distraction from the crap experience/atmosphere that is the Emirates. Sack the board.
We need to create a bigger, better atmosphere at the new ground, we need to go and get the trust of the old school supporter and train some of the newer supporters to SING and support the lads on the pitch. We are too bloody quiet and banning flags etc is pathetic and loses the confidence of those true, proper gooners who just want to get the crowd going and in turn show the players we love them. Stop trying to kill our atmosphere, the club has forgotten about it true fans and focused all its attention on corporate money. Without the real fans and an atmosphere the club will die, for many it already is as machdays are no longer fun. Lower the disgusting prices, stop the flag ban and bring back the clock!!
All this arguing is making me nervous. Let's all bring our flags to the ground but hand them into the cloakrooms until the game is over. Are we still allowed to do the conga?
I feel appalled that Arsenal football club have taken this ludicrous decision to ban national flags from Emirates Stadium. The club has a global fan base and the thought that fans who have travelled thousands of miles to support their team can no longer illustrate where they come from is ridiculous and political correctness gone mad. This is not to mention the logistical nightmare you are now creating for stewards with regards away fans and particularly on European nights. I urge you to reconsider this absurd policy.
Why not allow the flags?? We're in England for gods sake!!! What if England play an International there?? You not gonna let them sing the national anthem incase it offends?? Total B*llocks!!!

This is a huge mistake the vast majority of us are English and support England.If I want to bring in an English flag into an English ground I should be allowed,This is my country! Ps I'm happy for every other National flag to be allowed in, including Scotland's!! Please reverse this decision.
We need more atmosphere! Not further neutralising of the masses, how about a massive Arsenal flag for the 'North' bank like Vasca da gama etc..more atmosphere, less sterilisation!
Why do you think the atmosphere's been crap for years and we get taunted by other fans, rules rules rules rules, AFC have made the whole day out sterile & boring and shouldn't complain why there's no atmosphere. The Flag issue is just another example. Amazing isn't in life how the people in power seem to make the decisions to piss off the majority. I thought Highbury had no atmosphere but the new stadium is even worse. I sit right at the back but could still hear the flags fluttering and the players moaning about the cold.
So it's ok for Arsenal to sell a Cross of St.George flag emblazoned with the Arsenal crest in the middle, as long as I don't actually want to bring it into the stadium!

Keep the flags !!! We like to know Arsenal is supported world wide, they put money into the club, they should be able to put up any flag they like !! considering half our team is foreign its a silly policy !!
Also can we get a petition going with regards to people being chucked out becuase they stand up and sing. On to many occassions people have been warned or thrown out for singing or standing and yet the away fans get away with murder. This is our home ground and yet the away fans seem to rule the roost. The club & players want us to create atmosphere and yet the stewards stop us.
Whichever idiot at the club took this action should be fired.
And the idiot that refused to stop waving the offending flag should have his season ticket revoked and be banned for life.
