I agree with many of the points made here. People should be able to take constructive criticism, and if you get “flamed” all the time for every story you write, then it’s time to face the facts: Your. Fics. SUCK. However there are a select few out there that do receive real flames. Real flames are not constructive criticism, but instead rudely point out any mistake the author made, however miniscule, or they yell at the author for absolutely no reason.. Here are some examples of real flames: “you spelled "coat" as "cat". hehehehehehe! your fanfic says: Seeing his cat on a nearby chair he seized it, and quickly put it on. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” or: “all ur fics suck!!!” I’m also skeptical as to how many of the people ranting actually got flames, and how many of them just can’t accept constructive/light criticism. Please put the subject as “Flames” so I don’t accidentally delete your e-mail, remembering to include every flame you’ve received, as well as a link to your fics.
