Thank goodness for people speaking out who care. What a vile thing to do to birds - force feed, cause severe liver damage and then kill them and sell the flesh as a delicacy. This is lunacy.
Ban this cruel custom! It´s produced by making the poor animals sick by forcing fat into their throats several times per day. The way they are tethered is cruel, the way they are fed is cruel and the illness is painful. Just for the odd pleasure for some people to eat such a nasty meal that is prepared from the sick geeses livers.
Foie Gras is just an enlarged piece of poisonous liver from an innocent sentient being that does not have a choice in the cruelty that is put upon this beautiful creature. Humans must step up to the plate and stop this atrocity, I think anyone that eats animal flesh should have to slaughter their own mean! Go vegetarian, vegan and cruelty free! It can be done with a little research and intinuity!
To realize someone has to be informed that this practice is wrong is absurb...think about it !! I wish it was banned world wide. If someone could actually veiw this "delicacy" being forcefully produced and then dine on the results the must be seriously disturbed!
