I am shocked and horrified that these restaurants, knowing exactly what Fois Gras is, still have it on their menu's. Have they so shame, apparently not... I will send out the word to all I know not to support them.
This is one of the cruel and gruesame ways of animal abuse! there is no way I would ever eat this, now that I know how it is made!! Stop this madness,we don't need it.
I have always had issues with the meat industry and lengths that people will go to generate obscure (and often cruel) things to eat when we have so many things we can choose from as it is. I am a vegetarian now but even when I wasn't, I always believed that organs that started in another animal's body shouldn't end up in mine (liver, kidney etc). Always tasted terrible and had an awful texture. Having said that, I never realised how Foie Gras made; I never asked. And I have been blown away by what I have discovered on this website. I can't imagine what must go through the mind of the person holding that tube into the poor, struggling animal's throat. Perhaps only dollar signs...
