Still a lot of Greeks cannot believe that people really care for animals and spent money and time on them. Why the dustbins are "FULL"with puppies, or dropp them later on the road or to poison them. Luckely there are more and more who also care, but still too few......
Release these dogs and their saviors ar once...and give thanks that they are willing to risk so much to help a problem ignored by the Greek Government.

This is the result of the dominating way of thinking in Greek society as ideals concerning animals welfare and protection were never promoted until now.

So tragic that a country with such history of wisdom and knowledge trets it's animals in such a worthless and cruel way. I being a Greek National, hang my head in shame - along with so many others, we worked so hard implimenting the spay/neuter projects for feral dogs and cats and IT WORKED ! It is the only humane and long term solution to the strays in Greece - but the one thing that lacks is the facilities and education which will encourage the people of greece to spay and neuter animals instead of just dumping them !
Tourist girls from Denmark who had saved their money to have a vacation in Greece, come to the rescue of starving abandoned animals only to have the wicked witch of Athens attack again. Karagouni has been to the court and has been rejected twice. Does this monster have psychological disorders? Can some competent authority please evaluate her? Where is the Minister of Tourism to protect tourists from people like Karagouni. Shame on the Greek Government and all people who condone the actions of Karagouni

With exceptions of course, the general attitude to animals here is a national disgrace. Apart from the treatment of domestic animals, there is very often little care for working animals here. Thus one sees donkeys standing in fields without water and still wearing their saddles after a hard days work. Presumably so they are "ready to go" the following day. However I wonder what hope there is when members of the medical profession for humans exploit the vulnerability of their patients and their families by making it plain that in order for things to go "smoothly" with a pending operation they need a "fakelaki" which is an envelope with cash. Recenlty I heard of an Athens University Professor requesting 15,000 Euros for such a case. In reality he commenced the operation, saw the cancer was everywhere and stitched up the patient again. That he had no qualms about keeping the full sum is an indication of the mentality here, unfortunatel more the norm so often. Each man for himself! When a so called educated person in a position of trust has no scruples one wonders what hope there is here for any living creature, human or otherwise.
a forgotten old hag who had become irrelevant in the greek animal welfare scene has suddenly found a way to make herself relevant again. that this increases the suffering of greek stray dogs is of no concern to her, as long as she can continue on her warped crusade agains those foreigners who are actually doing what the greeks should do to help solve the huge problem of the thousands of stray animals roaming the streets of this country. she is a blight and a curse and should be subjected to the same poisoning which awaits the animals which could otherwise be in good, loving and caring homes in denmark and other european countries. this is a shame and a national disgrace!

I'm getting so sick of this mentally ill greek woman who manages to destroy the lives of these dogs. We also have a foreign dog in our home. Do you want to get the 'before'and 'after'pictures? I can asure you he is verry happy now, otherwise he would have been killed to keep the streets clean for the olympic games!!!!!

Large scale sterilisation! Adoption by responsible people in civilized countries. Cruel but unevitable; end the lifes of ill dogs that can't be saved anymore BUT rescue the lifes of the strong and healthy before it's too late for them too. Greece grow up, it's the 21st century!!

If dogs in greece are poisoned, hold in muddy dirty sheds, carried around at their ears, why do they care if the animals will be used for examins? This couldn't be worse than life in Greece. Let the dogs live a better life in Denmark!
