taking hostages such as these peoople is counter-productive. perhaps a silent majority of usin the west condemn the US for their illegal and barbarous acts. But need to engender an international opposition to their continuing occupation. hostage taking makes it harder for conxcripting that support.
You must not hurt your friends among your enemies. We thousands have worked hard and long against America's immoral attack on Iraq. No WMDs; no connection with 9/11 attacks; no liberation of grateful Iraqis; no democracy; no Osama; no protections for civilization's artifacts or library documents; no consistent electricity; no pure water or sewer; no adequate hospitals, no gasoline. Consider the murdered, the mangled, the maimed, the tortured. Consider the minds of their loved ones. Consider the costs of the war in battered U.S. honor and commitments, a broken Western alliance, a shredded United Nations and a scarred Bill of Rights. Think of the acid now seething in the souls of America's warniks. Think of the attacks against our freedoms wrought by Patriot I & II. Think of the government's control of our formerly free press. Think of how Saddham told the truth.

To my Italians friends who are teaching and translating classic and modern and contemporary Arabicc Literature at the Italians' universities , institutes , and publishing houses
I feel so ashamed ,.Since the killing and kidnapping of the Italians journalists in Iraq and the kidnapping of the tow ngo's workers Siemona Pary and Siemona Tourena in Iraq . Also I feel angry and frustrated following the flourishing of the Coulter of terror .
These attacks against Italians are non –justified even from a narrow minded point of view of what is called nationalism.
The journalists came to Iraq to expose the daily suffering of the Iraqis, from the occupation forces and from those who claim the resistance of the occupation.
The tow ladies came to help the children of Iraq.
All of them find themselves now under the terror of some Iraqis and other criminals.
I am ashamed because the kidnappers belong to the Arabic language , which all of you worked hard to introduce its culture to the Italian People. This culture which was proud of its protection for gussets and women.
The Arabic culture which you are introducing into your language is against prejudice, and injustice.
You know also that the Arabic culture is passing through deep crises.
I would like to mention here some of the names of the Arab authors , which had been translated into Italian , to urge them to use their influence and connection through Arabic satell
