Violence against civilians helps no one's cause and only hardens people's positions on both sides, bringing more retribution and more violence. Please release these prisoners.
Please do ALL you can to free these wonderful, peaceful people. They represent all that is good aboiut our world, while this brutal invasion is a disgrace to anyone who calls himself a human being.
I echo the comments of Danny Dayus (1964).
It is also important to acknowledge that the "coalition" is escalating the conflict, with much of Iraq rapidly becoming a free fire zone, as numerous civilian casualties are being reported daily from several cities, and we are obligated to condemn these attacks in the strongest possible terms.
Thank you for bringing the facts to America about these four Peacemakers. They are the Blessed ones and through this ordeal will make the world a better place in Peace.
The World Crisis Web wholeheartedly joins you in your appeal for the release of the Italian and Iraqi aid workers.
This site has always taken a strong line against the invasion and occupation, and supports the right of Iraqi people to resist that occupation. However, that resistance must respect the same human rights that it is trying to protect, and the kidnapping, or targetting of innocent Iraqis or of legitimate foreign aid workers falls completely outside all globally accepted standards.
end occupations, stop thinking it's possible to bring peace and democracy with war and bombs. let's begin to work for a real peace in iraq and all over the world!
I appeal to the hostage takers, in the name of humanity to recognize that violence create violence, wrong generates wrong, and peace can only be established by respecting all humans.
Whoever kidnapped these four people is no friend to Islam, and in fact is aiding the occupation by creating more chaos which will then give the US more reason to stay in Iraq.
If there are four people (the two italians and the two irqi people) that are aginst war and against America's policy, is them. They have devoted their lives to peace, helping people that have problems, loving children in the name of respect for life and above all in the name of love.
Please join with us in the struggle against all the forces that bring death and fuel injustice. Join with us in affirming that which brings life and hope. Please release these hostages now.
In the struggle for peace,
John Volkening
