If Muslems were peaceful, their protest would have been justified.
But, Muslems have been publishing MUCH worse cartoons, caricatures and other anti-Christian and anti-Jewish propaganda, for many years.
The cartoons do not come even close to the wild incitement against Christians and Jews, in the Kuran itself !
A small ‘sample’: The Kuran tells Muslims to kill the disbelievers [Christians and Jews] wherever they find them (2:191), murder them and treat them harshly (9:123), slay them (9:5), fight with them (8:65 ). It tells its followers to humiliate the Christians and the Jews and impose on them a penalty tax (9:29). It takes away the freedom of belief from all humanity and tells clearly that no other religion except Islam is acceptable (3:85).
[The Kuran, 5.51] – “O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends... and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.”
And THEY protest?! The Muslems’ protests are incredibly hypocritical.
Another cartoon is needed: One that portrays the basic Islamic commandment to enforce Islam on every human being on earth, through ‘Jihad’ – a Muslem ‘holy war’.
No other religion has such a commandment -- to annihilate other religions -- in its holy scriptures.
Christians wouldn’t have burned Muslem Embassies because of a cartoon about Jesus.
Only people who ALREADY HAVE a religion-based, hateful & violent attitude, would be triggered into such a violent rampage.

I strongly support this petition, and our Danish friends for stading up for core Western values. Christians in this country constantly have to endure negativity towards their religion in the press here and have learned to "deal with it". It's time Muslims learn that they cannot use violent reactions every time they feel slighted. This is NOT civilized.
I may not like everything that is published in the media, I may be offended by some things in the media, I may not agree with everything in the media but we all have a right to speak our minds. While it is not polite to deliberately antagonize someone or make a mockery of their faith, the followers of Islam must come to grips with the fact that they do NOT live on an island, and they must SHARE the world with others. I definately support this petition. I do however think that the US government tried to score some easy points with the arab league, by openly stating their discontent with these drawings, What the US government should have done, was stating that EVERYONE should have the basic right of expressing their feelings, even though it may insult people. I too can see someone being offended by the drawings, yet they all pretty much hit the spot... Look at it this way... As it is now, not all moslems are terrorists, but pretty much all terrorists are moslems, clean up in the faith, remove all violence from the socalled non-violent religion, and people wouldn't think of moslems as people who wants to carry bombs around.
Suicide bombings in itself is a way of excercizing your right to display your opinion in public, the people you kill however will never be able to voice their discontent with your opinion.

I support this petition. I may not like or agree with certain politically inspired cartoons but I would certainly defend their right to publish them. Inciting riots and destroying property over a cartoon is beyond ludicrous.
