Please release the hostages. Canada stands strong behind our support for the end of occupation in Iraq. Our citizens, nor our government supported the occupation. Aid workers!? Why kidnap aid workers?! Student who opposes the war

I don't understand this. There is something odd about it. Any organization that is smart enough to develop a logo and broadcast to Al Jazeera is smart enough to do an internet search on "Christian Peacemaker Teams". Yet I am reluctant to imagine a set up because I cannot see how either hawks or doves could benefit more than the other from this publicity. There is something to be gained and lost in this for both of them, so if it is a setup, it is a foolish one. I don't know whether this is really an anti-US terrorist organization, a pro-US terrorist organization posing as an anti-US terrorist organization to show how totalitarian the insurgency is and how necessary it is to stay in Iraq to prevent people like this from taking over the country, or a pro-peace organization posing as an anti-US terrorist organization to show the world that Palestinians, the Arab world and secular lefties will sometimes stand up for the lives of innocent Christians and to expose the Christian right many of whom have publicly laughed and cheered at the prospect that these people may be murdered by Thursday. Whatever the case, I pray that the prisoners be released unharmed and that the truth come out soon.
