Those people did not go there to become martyrs, but to help suffering people. But if you make them into martyrs, you will suffer. So let them go back to their work.
I have worked with CPT in Hebron (el Khalil), Chiapas, and Colombia. We try to help people in situations of conflict to live in dignity, peace, and justice. We recognize that our own countries are often major forces blocking these longings of the peoples of the world. We identify ourselves as Christian, not in order to propagandize non-Christians, but to identify with the Christ of love, and to call Christians to give up forever the evil Crusader way of thinking.
I do not personally know the people you have kidnapped. I DO know that CPTers are people of peace--not the false peace of guns, but the true peace of dialog, repentence, and justice.
Please release them, so that they can continue their work to help bring an end to the foreign occupation of Iraq.
The kidnapping of Peace workers is not an act approved by The Noble Qra'an.
Whoever kills these men will make them saints of both Islam and Christianity. Whoever kills these men are not heroes but wads of shame. Whoever spares these men are as much saints as these men themselves.
Not all American's are your enemies. Please understand that. The peace workers you hold are there to try and help the people of Iraq, and to stop the madness that has been unleashed in your country.

When working with the International Solidarity Movement in Palestine,in 2003, I met and was so impressed with the commitment to justice and peace of members of the CPT, including those who were then on their way to Baghdad to protest the upcoming American invasion. They and those who have followed them deserve respect and protection from harm.
Jim Loney is my friend here in Toronto. I know him quite well, since at least the early months of 2003. He is not a spy and indeed is just as strongly opposed to the USA invasion of Iraq as I and my other friends are. Please release him and the other detainees.
Enshallah; I understand your reasons for wanting the detainees released. We are working from America to stop abuses. We are fighting politically to stop torture. The persons you hold are good people, on your side. Please release them and let us help you with people who are unjustly held.
These peole are taking greats risks for peace in the region. They have opposed the US led invasion of Iraq and have helped Muslim groups to form their own peace teams. Freeing them would be a great staement against the US occupation
These are true American patriots who deserve to have the opportunity to continue their work for peace and understanding. The captors must understand how important these people are in the struggle for the truth to be reported.
