Please... these people believe in peace and human rights and they are opposed to our government policies as am I. Please release them. They came to your country to help because they are ashamed of what our country is doing... as am I.Please be kind to them. They are not instruments of our administration. They are good, and brave and compassionate. Please show them kindness and you will win many many American friends and embarass our awful president.
Harmeet is a friend of mine at Auckland University in New Zealand. I'm the president of Students for Justice in Palestine this year, and Harmeet was heavily involved with the group, having been to Palestine himself with ISM. He is possibly the most gentle, loving, and compassionate man I have ever met, always looking to help others. These men are a huge asset to the Iraqi people and those of the wider world. They must be released and the US and UK must withdraw all troops from Iraq and stop this illegal occupation.
One of the captives, Jim Loney, is a close personal friend of my colleague in Texans for Peace. All of these men are our brothers in peace. This insanity has to end.
These are humanitarian people who are in Iraq because they believe that the U.S. war on Iraq is wrong. They are there to help the Iraqi people. Please let them go.
Stop the illegal, immoral, unjustified invasion and occupation of Iraq now. Free all resistance fighters and detainees incarcerated in sweeps without due process.
I have been associated with Christian Peacemakers for several years and I know that they have the welfare of the people of Iraq as their first concern. Please release the hostages so that they can continue to work for peace in Iraq.
