While I understand your need to have your platform heard, the people that you are holding are interested in justice,in cooperation and in helping the people of Iraq to be heard. They stand between those who would commit unjust acts and I ask you to have mercy and to allow their release.
these people are working for peace they are not your enemy. We need more people like them who dedicate their lives to peace and justice for all regardless of race or religion.
I've always had great admiration for the CPT. However, at this time when President Bush, an avowed Christian, is telling the world that he believes God made him President to win the war in Iraq and against terrorism, the word "Christian' in Christian Peacemaker Teams seems more a word of provocation than a word of peace.
If helpful, please feel free to add this following my name: former Peace Development Worker, Bethlehem, Palestine. However, if it is deemed more helpful to leave that off, the name alone is also fine.
Thank you for organizing this petition.

Please release the CPT members. They are in Iraq because of their deep compassion and concern for the Iraqi people, which is greater than their concern for themselves. Please know that there are many of us in western countries who are deeply, deeply anguished over what has happened in Iraq.
Please listen to the experiences of Iraqis and Palestinians that have worked with CPT volunteers. The latter individuals are dedicated to working together with Muslims to build justice and peace for all salaam-living people.
The Ministry of Love of Christ the Redeemer Church pleads with you to please release the peacemaker team. I join them in prayers to stop the war, stop the violence, seek peace in your hearts.
I wish to add my voice to the many others crying out for justice and peace; and I ask that you please free the people you hold in bondage. Nothing can be resolved in this manner.
Many Americans do not support George Bush's war. We want it to end. We want our government to stop treating other cultures as inferior. We want to stop expoiting the rest of the world and find peace and harmony.
Please release the CPT team so they can continue listening to the voices of Iraquis harmed by U.S. foreign policy, and so that the Christian Peacemaking Team members can continue speaking for social justice for all Iraquis? I can understand your anger with our government. Freeing the CPT men so they can continue informing the U.S. public will help other U.S. citizens work to end the occupation of Iraq, and advocate for justice. Thank you. We're praying for all of you.
I entreat the captors: Do not carry out your threat. It will give ammunition to the occupation forces. Instead strengthen the worlds anti-occupation movement. Set free those who are among the truest and bravest of Iraqs allies.
I appeal to the hostage takers to free these friends of yours!I understand your anger over what Bush/Blair mfia has one to Iraq and Palestine.
But these are Relief Workers and have a heart of gold to risk their lives to help the helpless Iraqi people who have sufferd enough thanks to a heartless US ruling class and their NeoCons who are the real enemies not only of Iraqi or Palestinians but the human race save the Likudniks and their shameless backers in US/UK etc!
The people are peace-makers. The have always had and continue to have the best interests of the Iraqi people in their hearts. Holding or harming them hurts all Iraqi people and all efforts at making peace.
