Peace Be Upon You. Kidnapping is not the path to peace. The Christian Peacemakers are witness to the violence perpetrated against the Iraqi people. They speak in behalf of the Iraqis when no one will listen to the Iraqis. The CPT has let the world know what is actually being done to the Iraqi people by the U.S. military. The CPT has been a great friend of the Iraqi people. It is difficult for me to believe that Iraqis and Muslims would capture and threaten to kill their own friends. The U.S., Canada, and U.K. do not care about the CPT workers and will do nothing for them. The only ones who would have anything to gain from this horrible situation are Bush and his allies. Harming the CPT workers would be used by them as just another excuse to slaughter more Iraqis. Maybe you actully are the Black Death Squad.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. Go in Peace.
One young CPT member, Matt Chandler, spoke in Reedsport, Oregon on November 29, 2005. He spoke of cooperation and solidarity with a Muslim Peacemaking Team in Fallujah. CPT members are not enemies of Muslims or of the Iraqui people. Please release them so they can continue their peacemaking mission. For you - for me - for the earth.
There is only one God, the Creator of us all. In the name of God please release these four CPT peace workers so that they may continue to serve God and the Iraqi people.
May we all come to understand we are all children of life and have equal value and right to be here. We need to stop fighting and take care of our children, our elders, our wounded in body and spirit and the the wounded earth. We need clean water, earth and air. We need to live and let live.
We need cross cultural awareness and understanding. We need tolerance for myriad paths, views, behaviors and ways of being and doing. We do not have to agree, but we need a container lartge enough to hold our disparities without conflict which means we must ascertain a set of natural priorities. As children, we gave up our seats on the bus for elderly people, encumbered people, people with kids, people with disabilities....no questions asked. We who were young and healthy understood the natural order of things and noone felt pit out or resentful. We were glad to do our part in some small way for the good of the whole. May we come to this understanding once more, able too rise above the selfish narrow greedy claims of inflated and wounded egos. May all who see help those who do not. May we live by the Golden Rule.
Please release those peacemakers who want an end to the war on Iraz. Do not alienate the world community by harming those who agree with you that the war is wrong, and must end.
I want to tell you something as a Muslim myself. Harming another human being is a crime, what about if this person is there only to help and be there for others who need him. What you are doing, is sending people including the Muslims away from Islam. You should not forget what Khalif Omar told his army when he sent them to war. Don’t kill old man; child; woman; religious man, fighter from his back and for sure not to wreck or destroy. Khalif Omar asked his army to do this without seeing the acts of no one where he is sending him men. But you and everyone knows that those people are not spies. There are their because they care enough to leave their countries and come to help the Iraqi. Send these people back safe to give us all hope. Salaam.
