Dear Neighbors- Please release the CPT workers unharmed. I know many in Iraqi, very likely including some of you, are persons of deep faith. The four CPT members you have are exactly like you in that respect, as well as many other was. The depth of their faith has caused them to travel to Iraq to stand with the people of Iraq and by their actions and words say that our government's invasion and occupation of Iraqi is immoral and inflicts inhumane destrucion and pain on Iraq and its people. Please set them free. They are placing their love for Iraqis above allegiance to their own government, just as their faith requires of them. Many others of us in the United States, including me, share their faith and views. They, however, have more courage and love than those of us we who are not in Iraq. Please set them free, persons made in God's image, just as each of you are.
Mother and activist for justice, advocating truth and reconciliation processes, conflict resolution through respectful relationship. Violence will never solve problems, please release these people. I encourage humanity to act on their findings with respect to other prisoners that are innocently held and tortured. Mercy.
The CPT people came to Iraq bravely as a peaceful offering to help the people. They are friends of peace who take very seriously the teaching of Jesus (peace be upon him) to be peacemakers. They are not missionaries. They are people who honor Islam. Please honor them.
Please release these good people, they are not politicians or spies, release them in the name of your god so that they can convey to the rest of the world your suffering in Iraq
Christian Peacemaker teams are among the finest of humanitarian workers. They represent no threat to other religions, and are motivated solely by the desire to help others in need.
"Kidnapping and hostage taking bring on a reign of terror; by means of threats they subject their victims to intolerable pressures. They are morally wrong. It is necessary to work for their abolition." Catechism of the Catholic Church 2297-2298
In my heart I have wanted to come to Iraq and do what I can to communicate to the good people of Iraq that even though I am an American I very much disagree with the policies of the Bush Administration. It seems possible to me that the Christians who you recently captured in your country, are not spies, but are merely people who have the love and courage to actually come to your country and see if there is any love that they can extend to you during this very difficult and unjut time. Please let these captured individuals live and let them tell the world the truth of the huge injustice being done to your country by the Bush Administration and by US citizens who don't really know the truth of how it is that love and goodwill is what can enable all of us to live peacefully together.

It is not enough now to talk peace, we must do peace.
Jesus gave humanity an example of "do not kill." These Christian Peacemakers are dedicated to risking their lives without harming others, to try to bring peace. They are pacifists--humanitarian citizens, and are not connected to the military in any way. They went to Iraq in love and peace. As a follower of Christ in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi, I plead that the 4 Christian Peacemakers be release unharmed.
While I was in Palestine as a volunteer with the International Solidarity Movement, I worked with CPT members. They are not missionaries and they have deep respect for Islam. Please release them.
A great gesture against cruelty, inhumanity & all the hatred that is destroying our world, can STOP with the act of releasing these men unharmed. what a great gesture it would be for all of us to see, starting now!
