URGENT CALL
TO ALL THOSE WHO CARE FOE THE FREEDOM OF THE IRAQI PEOPLE
We, Council of Organizations of Civil Society, learned that four workers of the Christian Peacemakers Teams CPT (two Canadians, a British and an American) currently working in Iraq were abducted last Saturday afternoon November 26, 2005.
The nature of our work requires us to Cooperate with local and international NGOs who have been working to achieve the objectives to which we are aspiring, namely freedom, justice, and world peace, which can be done through defending human rights of the Iraqi people and peoples of the world.
After making our investigations about their background, the CPT was one of NGOs we have been working with lately; for we learned that they have liberated their minds from the shackles of their unjust governments. We ascertained their integrity and seriousness in terms of telling the truth about the sufferings of our people to their own people, raising their awareness and encouraging them to support and show solidarity to our people in order to for them to obtain their freedom and independence.
We have found in the CPT workers a sense of religious co-existence, (that is why the Association of Iraqi Muslim Scholars have called for the release of the four members). We also found that the CPT were doing their utmost to release Iraqi detainees. They have similar actions in other parts of the world on top of which their solidarity with the Palestinian people in the Occupied Land (as his Eminence the Mufti of Holy Jerusalem stated in his last appeal for their release).
Accordingly, we are calling all honest Iraqis who are striving to liberate our beloved country to do their best in order to immediately release the four CPT members so that they could get back to working for the freedom of the detainees held behind the bars of democracy and for liberating our people from the loathsome occupation.

If you seek real power then you must seek legitimacy in the world community. Holding members of the CPT in jail, torturing them or, worse yet, killing them would be as damaging an act as you could possibly commit towards achieving such a goal.
An Eye for an Eye will make the whole world blind. Violence only begets more violence. I urge you in the cause of peace with justice to let these people go.
I have met Tom and know him to be nothing less than a man of peace and love. Let all of us who serve the one God who is Father to us all, seek the release of these four, who seek only to further His work.
We are also opposed to the U.S. occupation in Iraq, as are the CPT volunteers in your care. They are there to stand with you against the violence the US government is doing in Iraq. We wish for you and your people to live in peace, and all foreigners to be able to return home safely as soon as possible.
Please free the four CPT workers you are holding. These people represent a group which is spreading the truth about the US occupation in Iraq and has the interests of the Iraqi people in their hearts. Sincerely Dave Amundson
As a citizen of the United States, I am opposed to the war of agressio0n against the people of Iraq, I am discusted and ashamed of my country'sits criminal and barbic foreign policy. I apologize for the violence and suffering that the United States has dilivered to the people of Irag. The CPT is, from my personal experience comprised of humans committed to demonstrating solidarity between peoples inspite of the lies and fear mongering that Western governments have used to justify imperial polices of thieft.
Please release unharmed the CPT members.
