The political effort to reverse US policy in Iraq is gaining ground in the US. By kidnapping and harming these men, you will be helping the Bush administration justify US military presense and action in the Mid East
Please show the world that you are not the monsters our misguided president says you are. You can easily outshine him morally if you make a merciful decision to let them go. They oppose the war and the dishonesty that tried justify it, so it would be counterproductive for you to kill them.
These pepole have nothing to do with the U.S. government and neither is it likely that the Bush administration will do anything to save them.
Don't be confused by that fact that they have the word Christian in their group's name and that Bush calls himself one. There is no connection!
They are useless as hostage bait! Please let them go!
These people that you hold are friends of all sects of the Arab world. They are not responsible for the sins committed by the Bush Administration. Please release them.
Taking peace activists as hostages is a clear sign that the radical groups, do not believe in peace or are for it. This kind of actions taken by the radical groups, justify G. Bush's Iraq's policy!
Please release the 4 members of the CPT team who were seized in Iraq. These 4 men were there for peaceful purposes only, in an attempt to find peaceful, non-violent alternatives to address and resolve the current situation in Iraq which is now being handled very ineffectively by military and violent interventions.
Please release these 4 men as nonviolent representatives of a peaceful organization that aims to help the situation in peaceful ways and with absolutely no animosity or hatred in their efforts.
Please let them return to their peaceful efforts.
Thank you!
Joe Carmody
To the leaders of the kidnappers:
PLEASE -- I am praying for peace throughout the world, and it starts with people like these, who care so much about others that they come to the land where people are suffering and do what they can to help. To kidnap them is not an action that will bring about peace or understanding. To kill them is to show a commitment to killing, instead of a commitment to resolving differences. PLease release them and thank them for caring so much for all people.
I am a woman who tries to follow the example of Christ and Gandhi and Dorothy Day. I teach adults as my career and teach my grandchildren as many imprtant lessons as I can. Please give me a strong lesson of how the world best moves on fom this point, with your wisdom showing them the wisdom of leaders in your part of the world.
Thank you.
I sense that your message may be that many innocent people are being unlawfully detained and perhaps even torchured by the occupation, and this holding of these four peacekeepers is in retaliation of those awful and terrible tactics held against many who are near and dear to you.
Many of us are working against such outrageous action by those using unscrupulous and inhumane methods to achieve whatever it is they think their objective is.
No reasonable people believe these tactics are reasonable, humane, nor acceptable by any people for any believed objective.
If the people who are truly loving and caring can come together to promote sanity and true caring for one another, perhaps we may be able to achieve a world worth while, a world of peace and compatible co-existence, one of acceptance of one another, and appreciation of one another in kindness.
As many of us work to free those innocent detainees from your home areas, and to denounce such tactics by the occupation, I urge you to please consider your actions toward these four peaceful people who probably wish for the same thing as you do, and as many of us do, to live in peace and harmony, and to dismantle the insanity of perpetual war for profit.
Please show your true colors, show who you truly are, that you, if not others, have the humane goals for peaceful co-existence, even if others do not, and allow these peacekeepers to go free and to continue their work for the best cause for us all.
In solidarity for a peaceful and prosperous planet for all, I thank you for your careful consideration to take a first step toward such progress. I hope that you will see that the only right thing to do is to release these people.
With much love to all of you in this time of absolute horror,
Sue Babudro
These people are concerned about ALL persons involved in the conflict--they are not your enemies. They are risking their lives to peace, for you and for all Iraqis.
